Fairy So sorry to hear your bad news sweetheart. xx

back at missbone Glad to see/hear all is well with you my lovely

I'm 6 + 3 today. Time seems to be going backwards. I have my booking in appt with the midwife next Wednesday. Looking forward to it all becoming official.

I've had a bit of a wobble today because I thought, in my crazy mind, that my symptoms were lessening which came back with a bang this evening.

To those further up the thread who were chatting about feeling low...yes I'm there. I know I'm lucky...especially compared to some on this thread...so I shouldn't complain. Looking forward to these 12wks (or when I get my first scan) being over so I can chill out a bit and hopefully the all day nausea will subside after that.

Also I really really want to tell DS (5) about it. I think I will tell him after the scan so around 12wks. Has anyone told their older children yet?

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 23/02/2012 20:09

velo Wow that is some journey you've been on to get here. How are you feeling? Congratulations :)

resipsa Congratulations!! I am due on 16th too. Are you showing already then? I definitely have a little bump already. Wearing maternity tshirts to hide as I haven't told anybody yet.

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 23/02/2012 20:12

Just wanted to point out (in case anyone is thinking WTF!) that my name is supposed to be a humorous take on Richard & Judy's Book Club. I did not actually name myself after their sexy toys.

resipsa · 23/02/2012 20:17

Thanks for that clarification! Yup, I feel huge but probably look just a little bigger; it's the expansion of the bit between the bottom of the breast and the bellybutton rather than below the bellybutton which seems literally to have grown overnight.

Beeblebear · 23/02/2012 20:33

Well I think I had my first bout of sickness last night. I was so nauseous I had to get my DH to make me pancakes! (well really he was just about to make some for himself - so I just asked him to make some extras for me)I think it's because I only had a bit of a nibble when I got home last night and didn't cook a proper dinner. I just feel like i have been eating SO MUCH lately!

Feeling fine again today though which is nice. Dropped a locomotive in the loo this morning too YAY for that!

R&JBP - I really wondered about that, but I didn't DARE ask!

resipa i know exactly what you mean about the "bit between the bottom of the breast and the bellybutton" growing! I was checkin my little tummy out in the mirror last night hard core. I have a pretty small frame but always with a bit of pooch an muffin tops, but last night it just seemed to pop out a bit.

Going for my first bit of blood work this evening.

29 (for 3 more days) / 5+6 / #1

TheGrandOldDuke · 23/02/2012 20:48

Hi Ladies, back from the scan and the only thread I should move to is the Sept one! Gave me an EDD of 30th Sept, so if it's ok with you, I'll stay here. DS was the full 14 over so I doubt this one will see Sept...

Little heartbeat 167bpm, just under 2cm long in total, the consultant said it was most likely my piles Blush that caused the blood.

I asked the risk of miscarriage now at the stage I am 8+4 and heartbeat seen, and he said that it had gone from 30% to under 10% now.

squidkid · 23/02/2012 21:08

Grandoldduke what wonderful news for you. I'm so happy to hear all is well! My (estimated) due date is 30 September too!!!

Beeblebear I didn't feel sick till nearly 7 weeks...

RichardandJudy I sent an email to my mum saying when I had symptoms I was miserable, and when they stopped I got worried! She sent me a lovely email back saying "Fluctuating morning sickness is totally normal. As is worrying!" She is being very sweet to me. She has had three kids and used to be a midwife, so I shall listen to her! MY booking in appt is next week too (I'll be 9 weeks) and I hope it will all seem a bit more real then. This is my first so it's all very strange to me...

twolittlemonkeys · 23/02/2012 21:20

Duke I am so relieved for you!! :) :) :)

Another one here with baby brain (you read about me forgetting to go into school on Tuesday, even though I do it every week!) I am seriously worried I will forget something even more important sooner or later. I cannot concentrate on the simplest task right now!

Squidkid enjoy the freedom of no kids - I wish I'd done more travelling prior to having mine. I am very envious of all the fun you're having... though I have a spa day with my SILs on 10th March. Can't wait, even though I'll have to avoid the sauna and hottub :(

Zara you're not alone with the twin thing. I have spent more time than I dare admit to looking at twin buggies and bedside cots and working out how we will accommodate two more children in our 3 bed semi Blush and also [nutter emoticon needed]

Beeblebear I've been eating loads too (in between feeling nauseated). Stupid amounts. DH is on Slimming World and I'm meant to be doing it to keep him company, though don't need to lose weight as such, just be healthier. The reality is that I eat well when he's around and pig out all day whilst he's at work!

Welcome velo and resipsa Thanks

missbone · 23/02/2012 21:28

Velo & Resipsa, congratulations and welcome Thanks Thanks

Duke, my darling, I am nothing short of ecstatic at your news [dances wildly across the lounge, scattering cat and jigsaw pieces] Wow! You're more preggo than any of us!! Here, these are for you Thanks I picked them myself from the side of the M6 after losing my way to the Spar.

Richard, before we became firm friends I did, indeed, assume that you had a weird obsession with the scatological practices of Richard & Judy (the DP eventually enlightened me with a roll of the eyes)

I'm loving the 'locomotive' poo, Beeble (Gosh! It really is becoming all things scatological on this thread, isn't it? Filthy bitches).

Me: 40yrs, 7+3, 1st baby, considering buying shares in Wispa Golds and swapping lives with Squidkid (bitch) Wink

missbone · 23/02/2012 21:31

Speaking of twins, do you reckon you get double the child benefit if you have Siamese? Just a thought.

AKMD · 23/02/2012 21:34

Fairy that is so sad, I'm sorry and I hope you will be back soon.

Congratulations goodsenseofdirection, missPetal, velo and resipsa!

DH and I have decided not to tell DS until I have a visible bump. He has only just turned 2 so would tell everyone if we told him now and he would probably wonder why the baby was takign so long to come :)

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 23/02/2012 21:49

resipsa yy my whole core isn't flat anymore. It is tough but rounded from breast to hip height. Very noticeable (or at least to me it is).

rofl at you lot not getting my name. The thing is, it's not really much of a joke if you have to explain it is it?

Glad to hear all is well GrandOldDuke :)

Can't believe I'm still awake at this ungodly hour. 10pm!! Not seen this time for weeks!! Orfski to bed I go...

RichardAndJudysButtPlug · 23/02/2012 21:52

squidkid thanks for helping putting my mind at ease. Everytime the nausea eases off I have a quick squeeze of my boobs just to make sure they feel sore.

Train of thought goes 'shiiiiit why don't I feel sick anymore? oh that's ok, that's good, I'm still in pain. Lovely, lovely pain'.

Ridiculous quite frankly.

Angelico · 23/02/2012 22:42

Hey ladies,

Fairy I am so sorry - sending you lots of love. You know you can get pregnant after the long wait and I suspect you will be popping up here very soon to tell us the exciting news! xo

Duke really happy things are going well! x

Richard I do the boob squeezing thing too lol, mostly because I've been very lucky so far with the nausea - just occasional moments. Boobs are reassuringly tender PLUS today I look absolutely massive. Don't know how people in work didn't say something today, they probably just thought I had a massive lunch.

Squidkid what massage did you get? The spas round here are super strict about what treatments they will do when you are pregnant, won't let you in the hot tub etc but I would love, love, LOVE a spa day.

BTW I have a cold. Was staying with parents and mum had a stinker of a cold. I am now getting it and feeling rough tonight. Will be interesting trying to sleep without my usual wonder drug NightNurse liquid - vile but effective :(

Hello to all, so many posts but just in from work and shattered so night night all xo

squidkid · 24/02/2012 07:01

Angelico they were quite strict. I wasn't allowed any full body treatment or anything that involved heat, so it was a back massage and then this seaweed mask thing. It was lovely :)

They didn't actually say I couldn't go in the hot tub but I decided not to. It was a beautiful place with sofas to lounge on and lots of comfy outside seating (with blankets) by the hot tub overlooking the peaks, so I mostly just chilled while the boy was in the tub, swam a bit. Work is really taking it out of me, I was exhausted. I fell asleep on a sofa for about an hour at one point...

I really feel for you all on the worrying when the symptoms ease! My boobs are just massive now (every time the boyfriend sees me in a bikini his eyes pop out of his head, haha) so at least there's that.... my tummy hasn't grown at all though. I keep examining it very carefully. I'm not super skinny to start with or anything (size 8/10) but obviously not that large either... I keep reading you start to show any time between 9 to... 26!! weeks, very curious about this.

Thankfully I am in scrubs for my next job so I can just wear ever increasing sizes and not have to buy a work wardrobe. Result!

squidkid · 24/02/2012 07:11

twolittlemonkeys I was a leeeeetle sad I had to miss the hot tub, yeah...And yes, I keep trying to do all the things I won't be able to do later! Though having said that I suspect I'm going to be quite a chilled mum, and just do everything I used to do with a baby tied to me. I stopped clubbing a couple of years ago anyway (OLD) and most of my leisure activities involve walking, free music festivals, checking out museums and art, taking pictures, going to little cafes with my mates, real ale pubs, watching for otters on my river, cooking... all quite kid friendly stuff. I go to loads of local events and check out random nature parks and zoos and caves and markets and things all the time. It will be a good life for a kid, I hope. I live in the city centre so I do everything on foot, and shop at a dirt cheap but brilliant food market, can do all this with a baby in a sling I hope.

I did manage to go to Canary Islands and Germany and Amsterdam in the last year or so, probably won't do much travelling for a while. I go on holiday with my brothers a lot anyway (they have young kids) - we mostly hire a giant cottage in the countryside (which is a cheap option with lots of you), pool the kids, and get drunk. haha. My brothers are awesome.

squidkid · 24/02/2012 07:15

missbone don't hate me! I spent my early twenties taking lots of drugs on a sofa and watching every film known to man, I don't know where all this activity came from either! I blame medical school... load of overachieving skinny neurotics... they ruined me, I have to DO things all the time now!

RunningOutOfIdeas · 24/02/2012 08:19

Morning all. DD woke at midnight last night with a temperature and headache. I decided to give her some Nurofen but she was sick almost as soon as she swallowed it. TMI - I ended up wearing the Nurofen and the blueberries she had eaten earlier!

So no nursery for DD today and I will have to try get some work done and manage my department from home. Because I kept getting up to check on DD last night, I only got a couple of hours of sleep. I feel like the slightest problem will leave me in tears. I am being bad and having a glass of Lucozade.

I think I will let DD watch as much Cbeebies and Disney DVDs as she wants today. Hope you all have a good day.

Bubblebell1 · 24/02/2012 08:28

squid Envy at all the fun you have been having. I've been Ill for the last year but the year before I travelled alot.
We are going to book a nice holiday next year for all of us. Inc this 1 Grin

I've woken up with 2 huge coldsores and feel rougher than a badgers arse. I'm 8 weeks today. ( according to my scan the other week )

Kids are going to mil for the weekend and I'm hoping to do some decorating. Dp has the weekend off and I don't get the impression he wants to decorate. Sad will have to resort to starting it myself and then. Asking him to help Wink never fails lol

duke I'm so pleased everything went well

How is everyone else?

Bubblebell1 · 24/02/2012 08:29

running hope dd feels better soon.

Midgetm · 24/02/2012 08:35

Morning all and welcome to any new peeps.

misbone you are wicked. But in a good way.

I was in bed by 9pm last night. Bad move as spent the night having the freakiest dreams and sweating a lot (I am now in Sussex and it is baking here). Had a dream I was attacked by the painter because I didnt like our new colour scheme. Hope this doesn't turn into reality when I get back to London later.

Have a scan on Monday to check this bean is in the right place this time (which will be stage 1 in chilling out a bit) and then the following week with my consultant at St Mary's. If this one makes it it will be the most photographed bean in the world.

Here's hoping we can make it through the day without burping farting or puking in front of random strangers. The joy of motherhood.

Zara1984 · 24/02/2012 10:13

OMG the shame. 5 weeks today and 3 pairs of my jeans don't fit. I am wearing jeggings at work today Blush Blush... off to find some floaty/jersey dresses and more leggings at the shops this weekend. Between my ribs and my knees feels like puffy/bloat.

Blush
missbone · 24/02/2012 10:49

Hello ladies. What a horrid, horrid day [stares glumly out of window at wind and rain-battered woods] All on my lonesome again today as DP is at a meeting with a child psychologist discussing his son (from a previous relationship). I do hope they sort that strange child out Hmm

I am eagerly awaiting two things from the (mute) postman: 1) My roll-up jigsaw mat and 2) My new 'intelligent' thriller from You magazine online bookstore. I will also clean the bathroom and prepare a divine supper for DP's return this evening (now where did I leave that tin-opener?)

Oh, Squid! I don't hate you...you seem lovely! Can I ask how old you and the boyfriend are? (I reckon you're a cougar as you refer to him as 'the boy') Wink

missbone · 24/02/2012 10:53

P.s.. Me: Real name Kerry Bone (I'm sick of these pseudonyms although I know we have to keep using them), 40yrs, 7+4, 1st baby.

Beans1977 · 24/02/2012 11:28

Morning everyone

MissBone am so checking out that jigsaw mat - me and DH love 'em!

Duke so great to read your good news, really happy for you.

I'm starting to get a bit nervous as we have an early scan tomorrow after a previous MMC - trying to relax as I know the odds are that everything will be fine, but I guess it's just natural I'll have some butterflies after last time... I'll let you guys know how it goes. Is anyone not nervous about their scans?! I'm starting to think there's rather an irony in the first 12 weeks being so angsty and also the time you're mostly keeping it quiet!

Have a good day everyone x
