Yeah Congrats, sounds brill! haven't had mine yet only 9 weeks but cant wait :) Must be very strange to actually see it :)

beatofthedrum · 16/02/2012 16:36

Congratulations! Such a fantastic feeling, I carried my little pic everywhere with me and spoke to it! (Seemed more 'real' than thinking was actually in my tummy somehow.)

Jods1 · 16/02/2012 18:22

Congrats! I've just had my 12 week scan on Valentines day.. very excited and carrying my pic in my handbag! x :-)

CBear6 · 16/02/2012 22:09

Congratulations! The 12 week scan is so exciting, wait until the 20 week one when baby is even bigger :)

At my 12 week for DS and DD they were both asleep in a little ball and I had to jump about so the MW could get a good look. DS was awake for his 20 week and went to sleep during, I had to go back at 22 weeks to complete it and during that scan he flopped his legs wide open just as the scan began, was the first thing the MW saw - good job we wanted to know what we were having as we had no choice there! DD wouldn't move at all for her 20 week scan, she was tucked over my hip with her legs flexed over her head, I had to do jumping jacks and all sorts!

ShowOfHands · 16/02/2012 22:12

Same as CBear, with dd at the 20 week scan she was curled up in a ball. The guy kept smacking her with his scanny wand, she would unfurl, stretch and curl back up again. DS started his scan by spreading his legs and having a wee.

Isn't it amazing what you can see?

Congratulations.

I have been badgering dh to treat me us to a private scan, 12-20 weeks is so long!
He isn't budging on it, although he said we would go for a meal afterwards Smile
What time is yours penny? do you have an inkling for what sex it could be?

Penny2012 · 19/02/2012 23:16

Ahh you've got lots of time to top up that bladder!! I had an early scan due to threatened m/c so have already experienced the agony of a full bladder and the joy of seeing the heart blinking! Are you having the downs tests done? We are and this is one of my main reasons for not telling anyone until sure everything's ok. Fingers (and legs!) crossed!
Mines at 10.10am and husband had to battle to get time off to come so really glad he can be there! I'm so excited to see more of a baby shape than the blob I saw before and mainly excited about finally shouting it from the rooftops!! I'm in a big show in mid march and none of the cast know which is sooo hard to conceal! I've just ordered engraved photo key rings for our parents with "I'm going to be a grandad!/grandmother!" on (I'm not sure what my MIL will want to be called) and will put little scan pics in for them. Because of the show we're having an "early mothers day" taps nose and will give them to them then. It's their first on both sides and they will be absolutely ecstatic. When are you telling yours? X

Macaroons · 20/02/2012 08:39

sparkles glad to hear your scan went well.

I'm due to have my 12w scan this Wednesday excited but also nervous at the same time! Just wondering how long is the scan usually? And do you get the results straight afterwards? Thanks.

Littlecherublegs · 20/02/2012 09:37

I have got my 12 week scan date through - 7th March, whoop! Smile

Just one question, I've read that you can buy a picture of the scan - anyone know how much they are and if you can buy more than one? Thanks!

Penny2012 · 20/02/2012 10:42

They are about £3-4 and it varies from hospital to hospital on the number you can buy. Give them a call and check? X

Littlecherublegs · 20/02/2012 12:58

Thanks Penny! Smile

Macaroons · 21/02/2012 13:44

it's 2 quid each at Tommies
