Painting while pregnant?

I have painted the utility room ceiling twice today, and dp has come home from work and is abit mad to say the least.
I had the window and door open and the ceiling is really low so wasnt up ladders, just stood on a chair the room is also tiny so didnt really take long.
Now im abit worried and have promised to stay away from the paint, but dont want to over react I just thought it was dangerous with oil based paints?

Has anyone else decorated while pregnant, please reassure me. :)

I would have thought you'd be fine. As long as the paint wasn't fumey and you were well ventilated (and didn't fall off your chair) I can't see the problem.

Finished the baby's room at 35 weeks pregnant. Took 4 coats to cover The blood-red walls that were here when we moved in. Used a low VOC paint and was fine. Only thing I noticed was that I didn't have the stamina to do as longer stints of painting as I would have pre-pregnancy.

I've been painting on and off since 28 weeks after we moved house. Now 38 weeks, and will be going upstairs in a few minutes to finish off the baby's room. I think as long as it's well-ventilated that's fine. I've stopped going up ladders in the last few weeks, and been a bit more conscious of not overdoing it. But so far all seems fine! And the baby nearly has somewhere to live! Smile

Just finished painting the nursery. Did the bedroom and living room early on as well. I was in a well ventilated room and didn't think twice about doing it to be honest.
