Overdue with first = overdue with second?

Morning all, after a bit of a straw poll really.

Am 35+4 with DC2, and wondering what the statistics are with regards to gestation length between siblings.

DD1 was born after an induced labour at term + 10, and I am trying to get my head around the fact that I'll probably be the same with DC2, what are your experiences with regards to this? Give me some reassurance!

40+10 is not 'overdue' though - normal pregnancy is up to 40+14 so you weren't overdue the first time

I was overdue with DS1 (inducd at 40 +14) and DS2 arrived at 38 weeks (and was a quick and smooth birth) - so you never know.

shall we rephrase the question to "Did DC2 come at a similar time to DC1?"

DS1 was born at 40+2, currently 32+5 with DS2......

DC1 born at 37+2. Currently praying praying praying DC2 will be similar!!!!!

Hmm yes see your point about not being overdue, had you said that to me at the time however, you may not have liked my response

I know it's one of those things, you never know or can predict, but it does make me feel better to hear of second babies coming a bit earlier than first!

DC1 came at 40+4

DC2 was induced at 36+0 due to obstetric cholastasis

In that case, DD was finally evicted at 40+16

This one (currently 32+6 and already estimated to be 6lb odd) is welcome to appear in 4 weeks time, thank you

DD was 9 days overdue - went into labor naturally.
DS1 was 13 days overdue - induced.
DS2 was 7 days overdue - induced.
DC4 due in 5 weeks - I'm not expecting to see baby for at least another 6 weeks! Hell DH is going overseas for work tomorrow for 2 weeks and neither of us are the slightest bit worried he may miss the birth.

DD1, DD2, DD3 = 40+13
DS, on the other hand, turned up on his due date.

Sorry OP. The last few weeks are awful and I don't have good news:
DD1: 40 + 8
DD2: 40 + 14 (induced via ARM)

Fliss that's how I feel, bump massive and I just miss getting down on the floor playing with DD, waiting another poss 6 weeks plus fills me with dread.

I don't expect this one to be any earlier, nice as that would be. I expect to still be weebling about at 42w+, I am resigned to it!

I was told by my mw that anything before 37weeks is classed as premature and after 37weeks is full term. Over 40weeks is overdue. I went 40+14 . All the best

DC2: 39 weeks exactly.

Can you engineer some kind of game for DD that you can play lying on the sofa? Jigsaws etc., books, duplo cbeebies

beebee normal pregnancy (term) is between 37 and 42 weeks, so you are not overdue after 40 weeks 40 weeks is an estimate anyway which doesn't take into account the individual woman or baby

You are post dates after 40 weeks and post term after 42 weeks.

Quite different for me.

Ds1 40+10
ds2. 38+4
DD 39+4

So 3 weeks earlier for my second compared to first and third was in the middle but still before due date.

DC1: 40+12 (induction)
DC2: 40+15 (without induction)

Urgh I'm in same boat..induced with DS1 at 40+11. And currently 30 weeks and ssoo scared of going 'overdue' (over 40weeks) again, and especially being unduced..please just someone say there is definate hope he will come early!

DS was 40+8

DD however surprised us by turning up on her due date!

dc1 = 40+17 not induced
dc2 = 40+16 not induced
dc3 = 40 +14 not induced

mine just take longer to cook

I should add though that I think I conceived DD a week earlier than official dates. If so, that fits with DS's cooking time more.

40 +9 for both of mine. No inductions.

DC1 induced at 40+14, arrived 3 days later
DC2 the same.
Hoping DC3 is a bit sooner!
