Ouchy Contractions at 24 weeks - normal?

loads every evening that squeeze hard and take my breath away. Sometimes get them in the morning too and each one at that time has me throwing up bile.

I never had anything like it with my first two. Is my body just knackered this time. Is it normal for some.

They are quite uncomfortable and I often have to 'freeze' until they are over.

Are you dehydrated or have you been checked for a UTI? I don't think it sounds normal to be honest and you need to get checked out! An occasional one maybe but not so frequent as this.

No uti. Might be dehydrated as am so bloated I don't feel like eating and drinking much, only refined carbs and quick digest crap.

I was just assuming that it's normal but just more noticeable. Everything seems to be more sensitive this time. I.e felt baby kicking at 12 weeks etc.

i has really painful braxton hicks with DC2 from 24/25 weeks onwards. could it be BH, maybe?

I would get it checked out to rule out early labour...

I don't really understand the difference between BH and contractions tbh. They are the same thing surely?

Sounds like it might be normal though.

I had this with both of my pregnancies but went into early labour at 25 weeks with my first. He hung on until 30 weeks in the end. Had same pains with DD but she was only 2 weeks early. Please do get checked out asap, its not worth the risk.

chocjunkie · 13/02/2012 22:59

BH are 'training contractions', they do not shorten/dilate the cervix. real contractions do.

not sure you can feel the difference. I would get it. double checked. 24 weeks is still pretty early, would not want to take any risk at. this stage.

Joygirl78 · 14/02/2012 07:08

Bh not really 'painful', more (can be very) uncomfortable. Bump goes completely rigid, but they don't normally take you breath away.24 weeks is early to get such vigorous BH, I would definitely be getting it checked out.

Mmmmcheese · 14/02/2012 21:39

How are you doing OP?

Joygirl78 · 15/02/2012 21:20

Have you had it checked out?
