Hi caija - I don't have any experience of this or any advice, but I didn't want your thread to go unanswered. Hopefully someone with more wisdom will be along shortly to help you.

Hi caija I had a really bad stomach in the early pregnancy days and it worried me as I'd read that Prg hormones cause constipation! However I do think mine was down to nerves surrounding the pregnancy as I suffered a mc last year and finding out I was pregnant brought with it a mix of emotions. You could always have a bug of some sort that is unrelated to the prg? It's good you have the Dr's tomorrow as I'm sure they will be able to help!

Hope it improves soon and Congratulations by the way!

I think you need to hang on in there till tomorrow when you go to the doctors but I would of though as long as your not bleeding everything should be fine.Have you other pregnancy symptoms ? I had an early mc previously to having my ds and bleed heavily but no other symptoms apart from losing all my pregnacy symptoms like swollen breasts and all.... Hope all is ok tomorrow. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done.

Thanku ladies...much appreciated, am not bleeding, no, god, I'd b climbing the walls after suffering 3mc's, I am extremely anxious tho, I have symptoms, feeling sick, swollen, sore boobs, a general feeling of being pregnant but just really worried, I am lifting my son and stuff every day as he cannot walk or talk, is severely disabled, he is nearly 5, n that's making my anxiety about mc worse xxxxxxx

I think if you have diarrheoa you shouldn't go to the surgery as it could be a bug that you'd be spreading around. You could always call them and see what they suggest

I had no previous mc's just general pregnancy anxiety, I had horrific IBS with my pregnancy that seemed to disappear around week 12. Sever cramping, crippling pain that made me almost pass out and terrible diarrhoea. Didn't even cross my mind that the baby was at danger, just assumed it was my body reacting to pg hormones.

My baby was/is fine.

browneyesblue · 13/02/2012 19:20

I'm in a similar situation, and the doc has said it's unrelated to the pregnancy. I was freaking out too, as I had a little spotting, but the spotting stopped (even if the cramps/bad tummy didn't). It lasted about 3/4 days, and today is my first day feeling normal.

Where are the cramps? Mine were either quite high or across the level of my belly button rather than lower down. Again, the doc said that the cramping was very normal with the bad tummy. If I had had the cramping without diarrhoea then I would have been frantic.

The doc wouldn't give me anything, but recommended slightly flat lemonade (full fat though - not with sweetners). I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but I started feeling better not long after. She also said fluids were more important than food if I couldn't tolerate eating.

Hope you feel better soon.

(I called the out of hours doc yesterday as I was starving and really bloody sore)

beebee1978 · 13/02/2012 20:06

A lady that suffered several mc,s then went on to have 2 ds,s said to reassure me once I fell pregnant with my ds after having an mc that , no matter how physical you are if that baby is ment to be you can climb mount everest, so I don't think lifting you son would do you pregnancy any damage. I know that when I'm stressed I get the no 2s so maybe just just extremely worried. Relax and all the best

Vcarroll · 13/02/2012 20:26

Hi caija regardless of what is causing your upset tummy ( probably stress and nerves after your previous experiences) I have read that having diarrhoea doemt harm your baby in any way the biggest risk to it is dehydration so just make sure ou drink loads of water. Fingers crossed everything will be fine
