Stretch marks

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and was just wondering IF you are going to develop stretch marks, when do they usually make an appearance? I am assuming the third trimester is when the real stretching begins, but I know everyone's experience will be different. I've been smothering Naked Mama lotion all over my bump, but I presume if you are predisposed to stretch marks, it doesn't really make a difference what you whack on?

I am covered with them from my first pregnancy, I got very big very quickly, but my mum is also covered so I do think it's genetic. I certainly got my first one by abot 25 weeks, and from there they multiplied. They do fade though, and each subsequent pregnancy has never worsened them, they've not even gone red again which I thought they might.

I think its genetic. I used creams and oils till 22weeks when I read that it all depends on how elastic your skin is. So I stopped using them apart from when tummy was itchy and luckily for me I didn't get any and I put on a whopping 4 stone on during my pregnancy.

Didn't get any (that I noticed) with DS1. The day DS2 was due I noticed some but I'm either blind to them now or they've totally faded.

I think everyone may be right in regards to the genetic predisposition for them. My sister didn't get any, and neither did my mother. However, they are both quite skinny, and although I don't consider myself fat, I'm certainly not sylphlike in any shape or form. My mum refers to me as "having a good build", lol. I just always thought I would be the perfect candidate for them, but none have appeared so far. I'm not going to get too smug though because there is still a good bit of stretching to go. :)

Got them when I was 40 weeks one day with first baby. Was gutted Sad
Not any with baby number 2 and nearly term with baby 3, holding my breath.
Have used bio oil religiously with all of them

I think it's genetic predisposition and if you change shape quite quickly. I didn't have a single one until the last month when, very suddenly and with an audible "whoomph", I ballooned and got stripy thighs, hips and calves (but weirdly hardly at all on bump and boobs).

Other people I know got them early on. Go figure.

I'm also 29 weeks and check daily to see if any have popped up before smothering myself in lotions and potions. Although I do believe it's genetic if your mum had them you most likely will. My mum didn't & I don't believe the creams work but I'm using them all anyway just encase- you can never be to careful lol.
my friend had her baby last week and said she didn't have a single stretch Mark till 35 weeks - she's now covered in themConfused sorry if thus freaks you out as much as it did me !
Good luck hope u stay in stretched Smile
