Electric shock/ stabbing

I'm currently 15+2 and for the last few weeks (since about 12 weeks) have been getting occasional awful pains in stomach. The first was a stabbing pain that really did justice to the word - I can't imagine actually being stabbed feels any worse or different - it was the worst pain I've ever felt! There was the first really sharp stab, then a few slightly less painful ones in the same place over the course of the next minute (I'd been sitting comfy on sofa when the first one came - it made me leap up and next ones came in a few short waves whilst I was variously doubled up and kneeling on the floor)

This first occurrence happened a few days before my 12 week scan. Everything seemed fine there, so assumed it was just a one-off.

But since then it keeps coming back, probably only once every 2/3 day and it's always in the same place - about an inch below and to the right of my belly button.

Actually, thinking about it, when I was about 5/6 weeks gone I kept getting a pain in a similar place (though not quite as shockingly painful) - tended to happen in the night and would wake me up and take my breath away. I'd completely forgotten about that.

Does anybody know what a pain in that position could be? Please don't say speak to midwife, she's completely incompetent and couldn't care less. I'm currently in the process of trying to change to somebody else, but in the time-being feeling a bit worried...

But as I said my pain is not as strong as yours sounds (haven't been doubled up on the floor) Hope thats is a little help to you, Im sure someone will be along soon who can help abit more.

I ve had irritable bowel for years, which got much worse during my first pregnancy, it sounds like a similar pain to the ones I used to get. Bowel pains can be very painful, not harmful to the baby though. Obviously, I m no expert though .. do you have a lot of gas or constipation?

Ouch, sympathies. It sounds like round ligament pain to me and it occurs especially around that stage as things start to stretch out.
