Anyone feel totally different from one pregnancy to the other?

Found out last week that I am pregnant - hooray!!! Only thing is though that I don't feel pregnant at all.... in fact I feel really really well. Last pregnancy (DD has just turned one) I felt absolutely wiped out - properly knackered - from very early on, as well as feeling constantly nauseous.

Not that I'm wishing I felt sick or anything, but has anyone had a pregnancy with absolutely no signs? It does make me worry that perhaps the hormones aren't building as they should be and that I might lose the pregnancy, have miscarried once in the past.

Would love to hear from anyone who can reassure me - thanks all.

Congrats Crazy Horse.

I'm the other way round. First pregnancy I was walking on sunshine. No sickness. Not that tired. Did a 50km race at 9wks. Never felt better. I glowed.

This time, was sick as a dog and could have laid down and slept at any point for the whole of the first trimester. Skin awful, massive eye bags, just yuk yuk yuk. Better now I'm at 15wks but it's a whole different experience

So yeah, it's possible (and per my Obstetrician, perfectly normal)

My experience is similar to RealLifeisForWimps. Had a super great pregnancy with DS - only sick about 5 times, didn't get fat, glowed with health.

Doh, hit 'post' too early!!!

Meant to finish by saying that, this time round I've been hospitalised for hyperemesis, I'm a moody pig and I look like I'm about 6 months pregnant and I'm only 3 months in.

Enjoy the good times OP!

Great pregnancy with dd1, terrible with dd2 - lots of sickness, tiredness, nausea...did I mention the sickness Grin

OhDearWormyGod · 13/02/2012 18:29

You could just be getting a few weeks grace. My sickness didn't kick in til about 7 or 8 weeks, so enjoy it while you can Wink

Horrible pregnancy with DS. Puked until 32 weeks, barely left my sofa for most of it.

This time, aside from feeling a bit fatter, I wouldn't even know I was pregnant at 18 weeks! A bit of nausea, but it actually ended with the first trimester (which is what everyone said would happen the first time).

I've got SPD/PGP again already, but that's to be expected.

cerys74 · 13/02/2012 18:32

I didn't feel as sick or as pregnant this time round (16 weeks so far). The doctor said 'It's perfectly normal. Or it could be a girl.'

I don't know what she was basing that snippet of info on, but the main message is don't worry!

BTW, I have been forced into my pregnancy jeans 4 weeks earlier than last time; MN boards say that your tummy muscles give up the ghost much quicker with 'subsequent' pregnancies...

DC1 Nausea and vomiting for most of the pregnancy. V tired, lost weight

DC2&3 Bit of nausea early on, threw up once or twice in the first trimester, got a bit tired at the end with DC3. Otherwise totally problem-free.

DC4 (15 weeks and still cooking) constant nausea and been sick every day since 9/10 weeks Sad. V tired, struggling to cope day-to-day.

Oh how I congratulated myself the last two times on having got over the first time "angst" and having glorious pregnancies because I was chilled out. Oh what bollocks it turns out that was.

MadMonkeys · 13/02/2012 19:12

I could have written your post, OP, about three weeks ago. But now the nausea and tiredness have really hit. I feel much worse than i did the first time. So it may just be the calm before the storm...

Had a terrible time with DD1. Very sick, tired ad lots of back pain. This time I feel completely fine. Everyone said it must be because it's a boy, but had the 20 wk scan today and it's another DD! No rhyme of reason to these things!

phlossie · 13/02/2012 22:48

I've been really different all 3 times - 1st was boy, 2nd was girl, 3rd is.... chimp, maybe? Apart from I have been (and am currently) consistently overdue.

thatboysmum · 13/02/2012 23:16

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. First pregnancy I just knew, had all the symptoms from the very beginning and just 'felt' pregnant, with this one nothing! I have to actually remind myself I am pregnant at times. So far they have been completely different.
