Eat healthily in this pregnancy? I am 25 wks pregnant and cannot stomach a lot of the good foods that i should be eating atm - i am eating, however, a lot of chocolate, bread, fruit etc. I am having 5 portions of fruit and veg a day but am also eating alot of bad stuff as well. Have i left it too late or has any potential damage already been done to babs??

Baby will find all it needs - even if it has to drain you of all goodness!! I was terrible with the chocolate when expecting dd and all was well!

With DD1 I ate nothing but sausage rolls, bacon sarnies and jaffa cakes - really crazy diet with little else of interest. I couldn?t stomach a lot of foodie smells other than bacon/pork for some wierd reason. With DD2 I was addicted to wine gums and couldn?t stomach hot food - mainly sarnies, salad, (with fattening creamy dressings though) tortilla wraps with cold fillings, jelly, ice cream etc etc
I was worried sick but couldn?t get my act together. I even had to go for a sugar level test thing - the one with a bottle of lucozade - knowing full well I had just downed an entire packet of jaffa cakes only half an hour before the blood test but too embarrassed to tell my mw
My kids were and are beautiful and nothing wrong with their brains

EM I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. I was sick for the 1st 20+ weeks and really couldn't stomach healthy foods. I just ate what I wanted/could when I could.
Like simplyred said, babe will get all it needs from what you are eating now...I remember going to my GP when about 25 weeks as I had a stomach virus and was v v v sick etc, gp told me that I would become ill before babe and that babe would take everything from me 1st. iykwim..
What I am trying to say is don't stress. The 5 portions is more that what I was eating!! Usually you only eat/crave what is required for babe or your body is lacking so go for it!..not sure what chocolate cake was a sign of a lack of in my diet .
