Hi all am 34 weeks yesterday I felt a heaviness down below felt myself and was swollen down there can also feel lumpy bits on outside. Phoned midwife she thinks its vulva varicose veins. It's been really sore and when I wee I feel like something is going to drop out! I can't walk far without feeling uncomfortable and keep bursting into tears I am so fed up. Anyone any experience? Going to drs too see if they can give me anything but not holding out much hope! Sorry for the tmi x

Oooh I had these, fun, aren't they!Grin

Don't worry, they don't pop, nothing drops out and they go the second you give birth. Smile

I was actually signed off work from 6 months with them, plus SPD - was very embarrasing showing my manager the sick note.......

I found the only relief is sitting with your legs up, as gravity made them worse. Eating lots of chocolate cake seemed to help too Wink

Ive had them since 16 weeks this time- none in my first pg. V upset at first- I feel the pressure and pain every time I stand up and walk, but my friend was signed off from 24 weeks with them and said they are totally totally all gone now post birth. That cheered me up- my consultant just said they're 'usually' better or gone after the birth which freaked me out- it seems gone is most common.

Don't worry, and the end is in sight too!!!!!

Ive had one for about 12 weeks now, today has been particularly bad. I dont do much walking around now at nearly 37 weeks and have to sit carefully but its mostly ok..

ME me me!!! Mine appeared at 22weeks this time & now at 32 weeks are grotesque! Any amount of time on my feet causes real pain & they are especially bad when I first stand up. Looked in detail the other day and cannot believe how deformed I am. L side is worse. Do they really not interfere with delivery??? It hurts to pee & no 2s are awful....HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO PUSH A BABY OUT?? also can't quite believe they'll just go... Can really sympathise with e'one else who has them. Have only 2 more weeks to work but even that feels impossible at times (am a nurse...)

My vagina looked like a massive bunch of black grapes when I was pg with dd. Tight knickers with a sanitary towel help to apply pressure to them is quite good. They did vanish after the birth (to be replaced by the piles I gave myself pushing her out). The veins around there have remained rather larger than they were though. I thought I would get them for sure again this time around but I haven't, most odd.
