14 weeks and still needing loads of sleep

This can not be right

This is now officially beyond a joke. The last couple of days not woken before 9am then after all that needed minimum 2 hours sleep in the afternoon. Its not laziness but sheer exhaustion, I'm actually falling asleep over meals. I'm falling asleep now and wanting to go back to bed having only been up an hour.

I thought things were meant to get better at this stage

Don't worry about it too much its only a matter of time until you wish you could get a good nights sleep! I slept all the time until about 20 weeks then back to normal for a couple of months - now at 32 weeks and if the baby isn't kicking me and waking me up I'm needing to pee every few hours. You'll get what your body needs at the moment and it could be the only time in your life you have an excuse fore being in bed at 9 every night Grin

I'm 15wks today and I'm still absolutely shattered, I had 10 hours sleep last night and had trouble waking up this morning. I popped to the shops and am almost asleep again now... I thought it was meant to get better, too! Confused

Still, I'm making the most of DP letting me kip :D

I had the same thing, sleeping 10 hours every night and then a nap, until about 16 weeks or so. Then things improved quite quickly, suddenly I could make it past 9pm in the evening which came as a total surprise. Hang in there, it should ease up pretty soon, and in the meantime go with it

Don't fret. I was sleeping 10pm-7am, and 4pm-6pm on work days up untill about 20 weeks - I think I was sleeping about 18hours on my days off.

I was like this too OP. I started feeling better at about 18 weeks. I still get the odd day when I feel very tired, but no where near as bad as it was (am now nearly 22 weeks). Just do what your body needs you to do :)

I was like this and actually requested repeat bloods at 16 weeks as i thought I might be anaemic. MW said it was normal, as I was still in early stages of pregnancy and that over the weeks it would get better. She was right, even though I was a bit Hmm to begin with (I was full of energy by 14 weeks with DS!) Anyway, I'm now 21 weeks and have been feeling like my energy is coming back since around 19 weeks. Like emblosion I still have the odd day, but at one point I was up at 8am, sleeping again for 1.5 hours before lunch, another hour or so in the evening and 10-12 hours at night! Hope it gets better soon :)
