I've got it bad. Reeeaaaal bad. I'm 8+3 and I've lost half a stone already. Doc tested my urine and said it containe ketones which is bad apparently.

Been prescribed cetrazine or whatever it's called but the doc said to try avoid taking it if possible. He recommended wearing a sea sickness braclet so I've ordered one off Amazon.

Anyone tried this?

I used these when I was pregnant with DD; they didn't totally stop the nausea, but did ease it so I could actually leave the house occasionally! Sending sympathy Smile.

I tried these but they didnt really help but nothing really helped for me. Its got to be worth a shot though hasnt it? Hope it works for you.

(Acupuncture might help if the bracelet doesnt.)

Hi Ahhhhhhpushit - I've got it bad too. Tried the bracelets - they did nothing for me. They were only a few quid though, so worth a try anyway? Have you tried forcing down food - I rarely feel hungry these days, but once i start eating the nausea subsides and I can eat a proper meal. Although I already get full before I normally would.

I tried it, I think it was more physcological (sp?) than anything else. I was terrified of taking mine off in case i suddenly felt worse x

lalabaloo · 11/02/2012 18:18

I tried them but unfortunately they didn't make any difference for me, although I hate having anything tight around my wrists or arms or legs so I think possibly that didn't help

emsyj · 11/02/2012 18:20

I used them and they helped me to feel sufficiently improved to be able to eat, which was what actually made me feel ok. Letting myself get hungry was the killer!

THank for the replies. TBH I'll give anything a go at the moment!!

Bizarrely eating makes me feel worse. I literally have to put the plate down after 5 mins and make DH take it out of my sight!!

I was like that. Had to try several different types of medication from the dr before it improved. Hope yours is resolved soon.

The bands helped a tiny bit, but my fingers would go tingly if I kept them on for more than 3-4 hours.

As for food, eat small amounts often rather than big meals. Better to nibble for 5 mins and keep it down than eat a big meal and be ill afterwards. Getting hungry was the worst thing though, even when I could eat any meals!

Poor you - I had it baaaaad too. Bracelets didn't work, nor did acupressure or ginger sweets (boak at memory).

Best things for me were little sips of tonic water, and polo mints.

Good luck.

I think my sickness was starting to ease a bit naturally (oh yes, one day, that happens....) by the time i got some, but i'm pretty sure they did make a difference- small but noticable!! i'm quite skinny and felt that they could have been a bit tighter... on the basis of the mild improvement with them I had some acupuncture, which I did think made my last few weeks of sickness more bearable ( but as i say, was probably easing anyway...). even if it was just an excuse to lie in a dark calm room for half an hour!! One day you'll be able to brush your teeth like a normal human being again!!

I too needed regular top ups of food. don't worry about healthy- baby looks after itself- pork pies and chorizzo were my requirements!! there are different meds that you can try, and someitmes it's a case of finding the right one. lots of advice on here....
