Please come and help me - just found out i was exposed to Rubella AND chicken pox at christmas

On Christmas day saw both my nephews. One had chicken pox which I wasn't happy about but only found out after they'd arrived and been sat on my lap by sil. I tried not to panic as I'd already had chicken pox I don't blame SIL as I was only a few weeks and hadn't told anyone I was pregnant. Spoilt my Christmas worrying about it though.

I've now found out that the other who was a bit sniffly was diagnosed with rubella a few days later. I remember having a rubella vaccination at school but majorly panicing now in case its expired or something.

What have I done to my baby? I'm so panicy now

Call your midwife and ask.

You should be ok but they can probably do a blood test and see if your have immunity to CP and rubella.

If you've had CP, then you're almost certainly fine on that.

The routine blood tests during pregnancy will check if you are immune to rubella. If you haven't yet had this done, I suggest you visit GP and say you've been exposed and are worried. They should then bring the tests forward. If you've been immunised, you are very likely to be immune, so try not to worry ahead of the results. I hope you get reassuring results soon.

Thank you - by some miracle midwife answered mobile. she says they'll have done a test to check rubella immunity at 12 week scan so she'll find out the result for me
