Very dry nipples - 26 weeks pregnant

Hello, odd question. Am 26 weeks pregnant and my nipples are really dry! Very random I know...

They have dry skin on them it looks a bit like excema or something but just on the nipple!

Guess my main question is is this pregnancy related or just something that has happened and now you're all laughing at my scabby nips?

Me too. Got some Lansinoh cream, pricey but brilliant stuff. Got rid of the nipple dandruff in no time. I just use it every couple of days to keep it at bay now. Also good on chapped lips (though my DD is horrified at the thought of putting anything nipple/pregnancy related anywhere near her face....).

Weird tho isn't it? No idea what causes it, just another one of those pregnancy delights to enjoy!

I'm pretty sure that boots own nipple cream has lanolin in it which is what's in the more expensive one but about half the price.

Ah OK I thought all this fun was going to come AFTER the birth :) I have some Lansinoh cream already so have just slapped some on!

Thanks ladies.

Ps out of curiosity I googled Lanolin to see what exactly it was. Turns out it is

"a yellow waxy substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals"

vom...I just rubbed that on myself!
