Hiya, just wondered if theres anyone like me whose 9 weeks expecting baby number 4?I am excited, anxious, nauseas and knackered! This wait for a scan has been excruciating. Keep thinking what if I've got it wrong! Am gonna look like a right idiot!Having baby number 4 was a huge decision for us but decided it was what we both wanted and didn't take long at all which surprised me as I am 40 now.Havent told other boys yet as waiting for good news at scan first, but so looking forward to it. At the moment, each day consists of a count down to when I can put my PJ's on again!Feel like I am in hibernation!anyone out there to share tales and experiences so far?

Hi and Congratulations.
I am 33, and 28wks with #4.
It was a big decision for DH and I too, seemed a much bigger decision than any of the others somehow. I well remember being knackered - sure you'll be pleased to hear I'm merely constanly tired now, feels like a huge improvement!

bump4 · 09/02/2012 13:44

Hi fabnforty

I am 9 weeks and expecting DC no4! I am knackered, feel sick and as worried about this one as if it was my first baby! Mine are DS1 6 DD1 3 DS2 18 months- but they will be 6,4,2 when baby comes (fingers crossed all is ok!)

We haven't told anyone else yet, but DS1 keeps asking for another baby :) they are going to be so excited!

All 3 have been conceived on clomid and we decided we would start in January on clomid again to have no4- Then I found out I was pregnant naturally!

3 days before I got my BFP I ruptured my achilles so it has been a stressful few weeks!

When is your scan? Mine is 27th Feb- not sure what the family/work are going to say Confused but who cares!

Congratulations.

Hi

I'm 33 and 15 weeks with number 4. My DCs will be 7, 5 and 2.9 when this one arrives.

I'm having a totally crap time with sickness (every day) nausea and tiredness. We told the kids and lots of friends a couple of weeks ago. We've been pleasantly surprised by the positive comments, as expected a lot more negativity

It was a huge decision for us and we had WAY more debate than any of the others.

It still doesn't feel real even now I'm in mat clothes and can feel the occasional movement. I just feel ill Sad.

GizzyBoo · 09/02/2012 14:21

Hi all Smile

I'm 35 and 6 weeks pregnant with #4
Took us about 14 months of ttc to get to this point.

Other DC are 9, 13 and almost 15 Shock

It took us some time to decide well for me to convince hubby that #4 was the right thing to do but couldn't be happier.

The other 3 are all quite self sufficient and have chores so that will help.

Trying to hide the sickness and tiredness is a challenge already but don't want to tell anyone until after the 12 week mark.

Congrats all x x

Congratulations to you all! Great to have people know what its feeling like. My scan not till 6th March when I think I will be 13 weeks. Blimey the waiting is killing me! My boys are almost 9, 6 and 3. This week been particularly challenging as my youngest has had tummy bug, so clearing up sick and emptying potty has been a struggle!Yuck! Going to tell my mum and dad tonight as they are coming up for the weekend. Thought would wait to see them in person and save my mum the worry for as long as possible as she is a bit of a worrier. So far the few I have told have been really chuffed for us as I imagine some people will think we are barmy!Congratulations to bump4 on conceiving naturally! must have been nice surprise.

Hi
I'm 5 weeks with number 4 . I'm
39 so big decision for us. I had my first three no problem but this one has taken a while. I have had two miscarriages in the last year. Firstly we decided that time was against us so went down the PGs ivf route. Had one embryo returned and now pregnant. In theory this embryo is chromosomally perfect so should be reduced chance of miscarriage . Also on
Progesterone, blood thinning and progesterone so feel I can't do any more. I feel a bit judged going to these lengths when I already have three but my family is not complete... That is the only way I can describe how I feel. Great to have found some other fourth timers!!!
X

morethemerrier · 09/02/2012 21:30

32 weeks with DC4, 36 yrs old have 2 DS aged 12 and 4 (eldest is autistic hence big age gap) and 19 month old DD!

This will be our final addition, so really trying to embrace every last bit of my last pregnancy! Very hard sometimes as suffer with SPD and now anemic!

I also had an early MS before this pregnancy so feel very fortunate to be expecting no 4.

Peoples reaction to No 4 always surprises me, most recoil in horror and say 'you must be mad', but my mums generation had an average of 5 she was one of 8, and my Grandma one of 13!

One mum in the playground made me smile, on telling her our news she said 'ooohh I think 4 is the new 2, I keep hearing of lots of 4th babies lately!'

So March on proudly 4th Timers, and don't feel like you have to justify or add 'it was planned!' each time you announce your news! Grin

morethemerrier · 09/02/2012 21:32

early MC Sad not MS, scrambled egg for brains when pregnant.

Deafworm · 09/02/2012 21:42

Congratulations, I'm 12 weeks with dc4, my scan was last Thursday and I was really worried, the wait felt so much longer this time. I have 3 dds and i'm already fed up with 'ooh are you finally going to get a boy?' dds will be 7,5 and 3 when dc4 is born.

I'm like morethemerrier and this is our last baby following an early mc so trying to remember how lucky we are and enjoy the lasts! My morning sickness has been horrendous but seems, fingers crossed, to be improving now, won't be sad to see the end of that for the last time.

Yorky · 10/02/2012 09:11

SO is 4DC a larger family? most people's reactions seem to say yes, but there are quite a lot of 4s around.

My DCs will be 5, 3 and 23months when this one hatches (if its on schedule!)

I know what you mean about trying to embrace all aspects of pg as its the last one, but I don't want to embrace SPD - picky!
Good luck getting on top of the anaemia morethemerrier

Does anyone think 4 won't be their last? I know DH is scared of me wanting more after this one but can't see me doing another pg :( as each one has been progressively harder, good thing the 1st was ridiculously easy

softhoney · 10/02/2012 09:38

Hey me too. 9 weeks with dc4. Have dd13, ds5 and ds3. 34 yrs and Feel v nauseous. Bit of a shock and hasn't really sunk in yet. My youngest will be starting school a few weeks before baby arrives. Let's keep this thread going I think we ll need the support! What are you all hoping to have? Any ideas?

Deafworm · 10/02/2012 09:39

I'm far more scared that dh will want another! We've always said I talked him into number one he talked me into the rest :o

I think 4 probably is large really, I know lots of 4s (dh family and 2 sets of 4 cousins) but don't know any 5s and only 1 family of 6 so I think 4 is stretching the limits of normal, if that makes any sense? I did laugh recently watching a series about the amish and one guy commented he only wanted a small family, maybe 4 or 5!

Deafworm · 10/02/2012 09:41

Congratulations softhoney, I have 3 dds already so i would be amazed to get anything other than another girl! What about you, any thoughts?

softhoney · 10/02/2012 09:45

I don't mind, but suppose I'm secretly hoping for another girl. Although don't think I'm in a position to put in any requests!

Are you going to find out the sex deaf worm?

Deafworm · 10/02/2012 10:02

I think we will, we did with dds1&2 then we moved to an area that charged £50 to tell you and decided it wasn't that important to us but this area will tell you if they can see (another move in the meantime) so I think we probably will. Will you?

fabnforty · 10/02/2012 14:42

Hello Deafworm, I am ancient 40 years old and bit nervous hence starting the thread! Need all support I can get! I have to say I'm new to all this but its great reading all the comments and makes me feel less on own! I have no pals with 4 children. I have DS9,DS6 and DS3 so have reverse of you, everyone probably going to say 'hoping for a girl this time' which makes me scream as they just make that assuption! Am just hoping for a healthy me and baby not bothered about the type. I counsel bereaved parents so that job makes you feel so blessed to have a family. Not going to find out at scan as last time we do this so want to keep on guessing!Anyone eating for England but feeling sick at same time?

Yorky · 10/02/2012 20:36

Wow fab, that must be a job that puts you throuh the wringer, good for you, not sure I could - I can't even keep a dry eye for call the mw atm, but am enjoying being able to blame hormones

flagnogbagnog · 10/02/2012 21:47

Hi all! I'm on number 4 too. I'm 33 and my other children are 8, 4 and 1. I was one of 4 and I really wanted 4 myself. I think it is considered a large family these days. Anyone else finding this pregnancy flying by? I'm 17weeks and can hardly believe it!

TessTosterone · 11/02/2012 12:00

I am 39 and pregnant with dc4. My 3 boys are exactly same ages as yours fabnforty.

We don't know the gender of this one but everyone obviously assumes I am desperate for a girl and lots of people are keeping their fingers crossed for me. Actually I would love another boy!

TessTosterone · 11/02/2012 12:02

Meant to say I am 23 weeks and huge. Physically I am finding it harder. May be due to my age or just having to look after 3 active boys/ work part time etc.

sleeppeacefullybabyboy · 11/02/2012 16:51

so many of us!!! im pregnant with baby number 4! i have ds who is 4, dd 3 and my 3rd little boy was sadly stillborn in dec 2010. But am now pregnant again with a desperately wanted baby. I'm 11 weeks now and due the end of august, all being well.xx

fabnforty · 12/02/2012 17:12

That is wonderful news sleeppeacefullybabyboy congratulations. So sorry for your loss. Still such early days for you in accepting what happened to you. You may have seen in another posting that I work as a child bereavement counsellor and work with many mums like you, which may bring you a little comfort knowing your not alone. What wonderful news for you now and how amazing and brave you are xx

Yorky · 12/02/2012 19:06

Tess - you and me both, at 28wks I'm sure I'm the same size I was when DS was born! Can't imagine what I'll look like in 3months time. And I don't know if the shatteredness is due to being bigger, or as you say running around after 3 kids, or dealing with SPD for the 1st time - part of me is glad this will be the last :( (in theoryGrin)

Sleeping - hope you're not having too stressful a time, praying it all goes well this time

TruthSweet · 12/02/2012 19:26

7 weeks with no4 and a surprise baby - yes you'd think I would have worked out what causes it by now....Hmm

I have 3 DDs 5, 4 and 2 (though they will be 6.6, 4.9 and 2.11 when baby is born )

It's so nice to see other families on their 4th as I feel a bit of an oddity!

bumasbigasbump · 16/02/2012 20:02

I love this thread. Such a positive thread about fourths! I am off for a very early scan 5.2 tomorrow. This follows two mc so very nervous Am feeling really sick in evenings so being positive.Just to add another dimension to story my sister in law has just announced she is 5 weeks pregnant with her first. I now don't know what the bed thing to do is ...to tell her so we can support each other of something happens or to give her her moment of glory...all suggestions welcome.
