Okay, so af is 7 days late and I have had four bfns but this morning I noticed an expiry date on the tests I have been using - Sept 2011! I had no idea that pg tests could expire!

Needless to say that I have been to the shops for an IN-date test but what are the chances of this making a difference?? I'm testing again tomorrow.

I am by no means an expert, but I did do some work on assays at uni. I would guess that the assay chemicals may (are likely to) degrade so that even if your urine is full of hCG there may be nothing to bind to in the test window, and so would not colour correctly. The control may still work because it is purely there to show that urine has passed that point.

In short, go to superdrug, buy a couple of their own brand early tests and POAS. The tests aren't that expensive, so what have you got to lose?!!!

Thanks chunky!

I have bought a couple of supermarket own-brand tests for tomorrow morning so we shall see! Eek!

ARGH! I think I may have had a faint bfp but not sure. I'm such a ditherer and can't bear to wait until tomorrow to poas tomorrow.

Someone slap me!!

Fingers crossed for you!! Should be fairly clear if you're a week late, unless your cycle varies a lot. Wait until the morning... :) good luck
