Hiya I'm 28 + 3 weeks and over the last few days a few people have been asking if Iv got my hospital bag ready yet!! Seems really early for that, but what do I know I'm a first timer!
When is everyone getting their hospital bags ready? Or when did u do it with previous babies? Don't want to be the most unorganised mum to be in england!

Thanks xx

We were caught on the hop when I went into labour at 36 weeks and DH had to hastily throw things in a bag and hope for the best. So I would say, there's no harm in having a basic bag ready from about 30 weeks (super-cautious) and you can always add to it as things occur to you that might be useful....

(loads of threads on here about what to put in)

At my NHS antenatal class they said make sure the nursery and the hospital bag is ready to go by 28 weeks (and there was a sharp intake of breath!) but we're all twins so more likely to go early.

My OH stunned me this weekend by suggesting we get the stuff ready now (to be fair we had just taken delivery of another ton of baby stuff, so a good time to put it all the right places). So I've got baby clothes, maternity pads and toilet bag packed. Still to do night clothes (another shopping trip for them), outdoor clothes (I only really have enough maternity gear to do me for a week at a time!) and phone/camera/music/notes etc are all in my bag for work anyway.

i've had mine basically ready since 28 weeks, just need slippers and some snacks in it now.

Mine was ready at 32 weeks. Just as well as it went with me at 32+1 Grin

Don't do what I did which is not pack a bag (I think I was in denial) and then have to pack it whilst in labour (at 41 weeks!) with my waters leaking with each contraction!

I've been slowly stocking mine up since, oo, my 12 week scan? Grin

My "labour" bag has been actually put into a bag this week (31w), though my hospital bag is currently a box in the bottom of DSs wardrobe (I'm likely to travel and need my bag before I need it for hospital!). They are both ready enough though that if I needed them they could be used, there are just a few things I want to add...
