Hi All,
Yesterday evening I was suffering from discomfort/pain and I wondered if these are Braxton Hicks. At first they felt like tramped wind but them turned into period type pains. They were quite sharp and in were located the middle of my stomach. During this time my baby was moving around a lot. They lasted on/off for a period of 20 minutes and then I had a few more an hour later and nothing since. I did notice that I had slight spotting afterwards (very minimal). Baby has been moving around as normal since.

Is this my body preparing for birth? Is it BH? Or was it just my baby having a wriggle around? Does this mean that she might come early????????

38 weeks

BH feels like everything goes tight and hard, not so much painful. As it feels like period pains, you might be in early labour. Make a note of when you next feel something. Is the baby still moving?

I had braxton hicks that were period type pain about a week ago comign every 20 mins but then settled. Think this is normal. If you have had bleeding or spotting though think you should speak to your midwife or maternity assessment unit esp if fresh red blood.

Hi again - just wanted to check if you'd had any more developments? You just need to keep an eye on any patterns with your pains/tightenings and baby movements. Any back pain?

Thank you for thinking of me. No back pain and no other pains either. Movement is like normal.

Oh good - try and get some rest while you can! Good luck.
