Am getting fed up now- still have things to do but feel so tired. Daughter off preschool with ear infection so trying to keep her entertained too. I know I shouldnt be moaning but sick of the oedematous feet/legs!!!!

Anyone else due now too?

I'm 38 weeks but my hospital has said they think baby will be early due to all sorts of things. So playing the waiting game too. I no it's not that same as trying to entertain a young child but my dog is driving me crazy he's only 1 and wants to play Alllll the time!! Feel awful now so feel for you being overdue!!

Fingers crossed it will all kick off for you soon. Good luck.

Well I think if your baby comes any time now then that is great.

In fact can imagine having a dog must be harder as having to walk your dog twice daily at least. Its a good reason to force you out for a walk though. I can manage small walks but thats all. I remember how i felt at 38 weeks and thinking I cant go on much longer but have done. Do you now what you are having???

Hahaha yeah having a dog is hard work feel like I'm always cleaning up after him, the walks I can just cope with DP takes him out before and after work and I just take him round the block in the day (gets me off the sofa). I hope the hospital is right saying I'll be early don't no how I'd cope with another couple of weeks! We are having a boy EeeeKkk I'm sooo excited, I have 2 little sisters one is 2 and the other is 5 so will be so nice to have a boy in the family. Do you no what your having?? have you tried any of the old wifes tales to get baby to come?? I've eaten 4 pineapples in the past 4 days..... Don't do it my mouth is so sore hahah my Own fault! Xx

Archip17 · 08/02/2012 10:51

Gelsa, I'm exactly the same as you. Was due on Saturday with DC1 and still waiting... I actually wouldn't mind, but it's this huge pressure from everyone waiting and asking 'any news?' Like I'd forget to tell them! And if i get any more 'helpful' tips suggested to me to bring on labour I'll scream. I've tried them all, they haven't worked, thanks!

I know in the grand scheme of things four days is nothing but my god it feels like forever (can you tell I'm not naturally a very patient person?!).

I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Gelsa · 08/02/2012 15:22

Yes we are having a boy too. just hope it all goes well. Have a pineapple on side waiting to be eaten- the aftertaste is horrible though i find- 4 pineapples in 4 days wow!!!!!! very healthy

Archip17- in a way its nice people are caring but what i hate is the people at the supermarket-checkout asking you when is it due etc- that really annoys me.

Yes it really does feel like ages, but your baby will be here soon enough. when are you seeing the midwife next?

My daughter is a bit better- hate it when they are poorly!

Babybeann- any movement after you sweep?????? fingers crossed!

Ahh, I feel you're pain. Both of mine went overdue. 14 days with the first! And it was the middle of August! Never been more uncomfortable in my life. And the constant questions! Everywhere I went, people would rub my belly and ask when I was due. Awful how having a baby bump makes you public property. Hope everything goes well for you (both). Give it a month or two and you'll miss being pregnant! lol x x x

Archip17 · 09/02/2012 09:30

Thanks ladies. Can I ask some advice? I have a midwife appointment tomorrow for my 41 week appointment (didn't think I'd need it, but there you go...) and I can have a sweep if I want. What do you think, should I? I've heard they are incredibly painful and can have no effect, while others say they kick started labour.

WWYD?

Gelsa · 09/02/2012 14:32

archip17- I had a sweep and stretch with my first and it got me going - well i was on and off in early labour for a few days but it meant that I didnt need to be induced. Yes it was uncomfortable but not like labour. I am having a sweep on sat- will be 41 weeks then and even though I dont like the thought of it i am hoping it will get me started because I am so fed up now. That is my advice. x

Harivondoom- thanks for your kind words- you are absolutely right. are you pregnant now?

You're so right about the public property, Harri. I was walking on the street earlier in the week with my mum, going slowly because of the snow and someone said to her, 'oh you'll have to be careful with her' I thought, I am still standing here, you know!

Thanks for the advice Gelsa. I ate a curry last night to try and kick start something, but all it did was wake me up at 3am with terrible heartburn - good times!!

I think I am going to go for the sweep today. Will let you know how I get on.

Good luck with yours tomorrow.

Flisspaps · 10/02/2012 10:56

You're not overdue yet Wink You've still got another 8 days of what is considered 'normal' pregnancy to go if you're 40+6!
