Shortened / Funnelled Cervix

Hi ladies,
We have had a really tough pregnancy- lost baby's twin at 2 months, were told it was our only baby. Had a 2nd mass, 5 day heavy bleed at 3 & a half months. A lot of spotting until 4 months. Lots of pains etc.
On progesterone daily 800mg.
On a scan 2 weeks ago (25 weeks) they saw that my cervix had gone from 3 to 2 in a short space of time and had funnelled (opened). I was admitted instantly and about to be put on steroids. At the last min, a doc disagreed with the decision & we also didn't feel he was about to come. I was allowed to go home & instructed to be on bed rest.
A week later the scan showed a short but closed cervix- odd? Or due to the bed rest??
I'm taking it fairly easy but have come off bedrest.
Does anyone have any advice? It's our first baby.
Thank you so much xxx

Hi tinkerbellmummy,
Sounds as though you have had an absolutely diabolical time! You have my total sympathy! Now I am not medical but I do know that at 25 weeks a 2 cm cervix is very unusual. I would strongly recommend that you make sure that they keep a very close eye on you and that you have very regular scans of the cervix, maybe even every two weeks. Make sure you put your foot down and needle them until they agree!
