Hi all, bit of a moan really.
Nearly 35 weeks and over the last few days I seem to have become massive and totally starving. There is no amount of good that can fill me up, as soon as I eat, I start to feel hungry again and get awful heartburn if I don't eat again soon-
Also have rubbish cold and sore throat and a pelvis that feels like its made of glass.
Another 5-7 weeks- really????!

I've become really hungry too at 33 weeks. Am normally a potato avoiderbut have become obsessed with baked potatoes rammed as full as I can get them with coleslaw and cheese. I'd happily eat one for every meal, but am sticking (grudgingly) to one a day Blush My heartburn's all but disappeared the last few weeks though, I think because my bump is still so low. For the cold and sore throat I'd say try and get as much rest as possible. I have a house full of poorly people atm and the dc being so placid and just lying on the sofa has it's advantages, as I can rest too.
Just go with it. Despite all my scoffing Ive not put on any weight for 2 weeks so I think my body just needs it. And who am I to argue in the face of copious carbohydrates nature.

Cold and sore throat is pants on top of everything else at this stage.

Oh yes, 34 weeks here and the grazing just seems to be 24/7. All the wrong sort of food too, like yesterday's lunch of a cheese toasty (with buttered bread done in frying pan) pork pie and a chocolate bar. Followed by early roast dinner and pudding with custard. I mean really, why does the baby need that?! Also incredible thirst, I'm drinking pints and pints of weak squash and still can't seem to get rid of that dry mouth, parched feeling.

Pelvis won't hold for another 6 weeks. Fact. 2 weeks left of work too, oh the misery.

I find that squash makes my mouth more dry and parched and weirdly puckered inside my lips! Random....

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 06/02/2012 14:03

Oh yes! 35 weeks and suddenly went from being mildy pleased with my pretty darned good eating habbits during pregnancy to becoming a munching machine with a particular fondness for cake and chocolate.

justhayley · 06/02/2012 14:45

Squash even weak won't help with thirst. Apparently there's actually a chemical in it that makes you more thirsty and have a dryer mouth - then making u drink more - and buy more of the product! drink water and if u need flavour whack in a slice of fruit - doesn't even have to be just lemon lime or orange, put berries in a jug of water in the fridge and the flavour will come out - works better if u put them in hot water then let it cool Grin

I'm 28 weeks and am looking forward to having a full appetite. I love my food but since pregnancy I'm hardly ever hungry, & am eating because I know I should be, & can only fit in half what I usually would! Being on week 32 so I can make up for it lol

I'm 35+6 starving but feel too grotty to go to the shop to get chocolate and can no longer comfortably cook for any length of time. Feeling supremely sorry for myself so sending pity all your ways too!

Anchorwoman · 06/02/2012 15:54

Oooh evil squash makers and their addictive ingredients. I will try to resist.

artifarti · 06/02/2012 16:14

34+2, ginormous and ravenous here too! I haven't dared weigh myself since 16 weeks - I had only put on a couple of pounds by then but that was the same with DS and ended up putting on 3 stone so am too scared to look! Grin Am puffing and panting everywhere I go.

DS arrived at 42+3 so I could have 8 weeks to go. I think I will have to be cut out of my house by the fire brigade by then.

Sympathies to you all.

Am now craving cheesy jacket potatoes...

I have started my ravenous period of pregnancy about 2 weeks ago (am now almost 30 weeks). Have to nibble/graze all the time. And have started to crave the usual suspects: cheese, chocolate, crisps, etc. Which surprised me as I thought I was being really good, having cravings for masses of fruit and not a lot in terms of junk, in the first two trimesters.

I am surrounded by empty sandwich/chocolate/rice cakes/crisps wrappers, fruit skins and crumbs everywhere at my work desk.
