is in fact a BOY !! lol
To say we were shocked is an understatement :) I have a girl and 2 boys and really was not bothered by sex of this one but at 20 wk scan, done at 18 weeks, they were quite sure it was a girl :) lol good job i saved a lot of clothes :)

Wow Grin I bet you're glad you had that scan, just so you can prepare!

Congratulations x

This happened to me in November! It was such a shock I burst out crying, I wasn't upset about it though. I'm due next week and even though we could clearly see the 'boy bits' on the scan part of me is still wondering what I'll have!

Congratulations on your little boy Grin

Hotcupofteaplease · 06/02/2012 13:26

Oh this happened to me back in 2009... except I didn't have a 4d scan, so I didn't find out my girl was a boy until he popped out on the bed in front of me... shocked is an understatement Grin

PopcornMouse · 06/02/2012 13:27

Omg, you're worrying me now! Shock :o
(congratulations btw!)

Tonksforthememories · 06/02/2012 13:31

Happened to me too, they told me that as they couldn't see any obvious 'boy bits', then it was most likely a girl. Thankfully i ignored them and bought all neutral. DS is 2.5.

They were right with DD2 in 2005 though! :o

Is this quite a common thing to happen? I was told at my 20 week scan that I'm having a girl (after three attempts and being there for an hour.) The sonographer said she would be very, very shocked if we ended up with a boy.

I have a 4D scan in 2 weeks, nervous I'll be told she is a boy now x

louby86 · 06/02/2012 19:09

It's more common to be told you're having a girl and it be a boy than the other way round apparently but they can only be up to 80% sure when you find out at 20 weeks.

minceorotherwise · 06/02/2012 19:15

I guess it because they are looking for a willy and if it isn't there then it's a girl!
So hence, very rare to say a boy and it be a girl. But obv sometimes boys bits can be hidden or obscured

jezebelle · 06/02/2012 20:03

The sonographer at 18 weeks had thought she saw the magic lines, obviously she didn't !! :)
