Just that really. I have a drawer full of Beechams etc but not sure what I can take. Is it really just paracetamol? Thanks

Paracetemol is ok, but not sure about the rest of the active ingredients. If you can wait until tomorrow, can you ask a pharmacist or call the dr for advice?

If it's a one off, then I have a hot a bath as I dare and then a small shot of something potent, such as sloe gin - but this depends on your stance towards drinking in pregnancy. I'm a believer in a good night's sleep being the cure for a lot of ills, and as night nurse appears to be a no no in pregnancy, then this seems to be the second best at making me sleep.

Hope you feel better soon

You can't have anything containing decongestant, such as lemsips or beechams drinks

Paracetamol, steam and good old fashioned hot lemon and honey (or a hot toddy). Menthol crystals in the steam are good, and you can get saline nasal spray which can help with the stuffiness.
I find wrapping up warm in bed helps me to sweat it out and feel a bit better the next day.

Avoid anything that has a decongestant in it, or ibuprofen or added caffeine. Plain paracetomol only. Albas oil and vicks rub are fine. A real made honey and lemon is great - I would totally add a slosh of whiskey, but as someone above says, not everyone will want to do this in pregnancy.

Thanks ladies, normally honey and lemon works wonders for me if I catch it in time, but I'm well into it now and it's not touching it at all. Will try some Vicks- good call. And I think if DS would let me sleep more than 4 hours I would give the booze a go, but he's getting me up regularly at the mo ( I think he's sickening for it too...), so i fear there wouldn't be much point! Thanks for the advice, particularly about decongestant- I hadn't realized that was on the banned list... Smile
