Amniotic fluid? (tmi sorry)

Hi I am a few days past my due date in my 2nd pregnancy.
For a while I have been having a lot of whitish vaginal discharge which I know is normal. However recently have noticed a strange smell to the discharge and it is getting stronger. Could it be a leak of amniotic fluid? It is only a small quantity of fluid but is constant.

Do you think I should contact the delivery suite? How can they tell if it is a leak?

My waters were broken by the midwife at 6cm in my previous labour and I was out of it and didn't even really notice so have no idea what they smell like.
Thanks.

Hi it wouldn't hurt to call them for advice, my waters went slowly with a constant trickle, I was advised to put a pad on and keep it for the midwife to check (smell Blush)

They have ways of checking, but you need to get checked out for any signs of infection. Mine smelled oaty and were a straw like colour. Not offensive but quite distinct in that it did not smell anything like urine iyswim?

A good way of telling is lie down for a while then see how much comes out when you get up. Good luck let us know how you get on!

Allegedly amnio smells of almonds (sweet) while urine smells of, well, piss.

no it wasn't my waters, but i went into labour not long after the post. Unfortunately another long labour and another forceps delivery, but I am just so glad to have him here.

He was 9lb 1oz and has an enormous appetite so i am just feeding all the time at the mo.
Anyway thanks so much.
