Twenty two wks, fourth pregnancy, son nearly three, previous mc. Five weeks of terrible pain and three bleeds. They thought it was pelvic girdle pain but now assume it is this thing called round muscle or ligament pain. I thought it was early labour as it was coming and going, could barely move with it on Sunday and worse when I move around z lot. I took codeine but threw up first day back at work. Dr now says codydramol and heat. Is it safe to keep taking this drug. I need two ten in five hundred pills four times a day as wears off after two hours. If I am in pain I can't look after son effectively or go to work. Is there anything else I can do instead of drugs or less mind numbing drugs?

Yes I had them prescribed for back pain, sounds similar to yours. I'm not 37 weeks and the pain is much improved, only take them now when I really have to, which is a couple of times per week. Do you have any reason not to trust your doctor?

Codydramol is dihydrocodeine (very like codeine) and paracetamol. You have to NOT take any extra paracetamol in other forms at the same time (ie don't top up with extra paracetamol or anything like Lemsip), but apart from that I think it's fine. Hope it helps with the pain and you can get back to normal soon!
