I'm 36 weeks pregnant, I have been in bed. Either I've got an embarassing onset on pelvic floor weakness, in which case I have weed a bit ir my waters have gone.
I'm now worried because this is far too early for labour isn't it?

ring the mat unit to be checked over
Have you any pains?
my waters wen tin the night with ds1 and i thought the same thing.
36 weeks is'nt that early, my dd was born at 37 weeks
good luck!!

They can give you something to (ahem) put up there and you can see if its amniotic fluid or not.

I thought mine had gone at 36 weeks and it was just moistness.

Cabe · 22/01/2006 02:27

I'm here but can't really advise you... If it's just a trickle then your waters haven't gone completely as this is a definite whoosh! does the fluid have any odour? Pee usually has that Peeish whiff IYSWIM Have you had a 'show' of any kind? Can you feel any tightenings?

bobbybobbobbingalong · 22/01/2006 02:29

are you still there?

MrsDoolittle · 22/01/2006 02:32

No, it doesn't smell of anything.

Bear with me if this is too much information.
Dh and I were having sex and suddenly fluid came from nowhere. I really have no idea where it came from. Dh saidit was semen and rolled over to go to sleep but I know it wasn't semen and it leaked form me all the way to the toilet.
Now I feel like I am getting occasional Braxton Hicks.

Hmmm If you're concerned call the midwife unit at the hosp. Good luck for now and for when your bumplet decides to make an appearance

ambercat · 22/01/2006 02:35

when you stand up does it keep trickling out?
thats how i knew, really thought my pelvic floor had packed in til i realised i was'nt weeing!

MrsDoolittle · 22/01/2006 02:37

I know I should ring the unit but I'm too embarrassed to say "I was having sex"

ring mat unit to put your mind at rest

MrsDoolittle · 22/01/2006 02:37

I think you are right

OP posts:
ambercat · 22/01/2006 02:38

they will have heard it all before, don't be embarresed, if it is your waters you need to go in!

Cabe · 22/01/2006 02:38

OOOH maybe you have started things off (very impressed with your enthusiasm for it actually ) Give it a little longer and see if there's any rhythm to the tightenings... You can leave calling Midwives 'til tomorrow if you're not sure as the fluid leak is ok for 24hours - beyond this they like something to 'happen' as there is an increased risk of infection.

ambercat · 22/01/2006 02:39

good luck, let us know how things go

MrsDoolittle · 22/01/2006 02:47

Damn, damn, damn they've asked me to go in. Hospital is an hour away, I'll have to wake dh up!

OP posts:
ambercat · 22/01/2006 02:49

willbe thinking of you

Cabe · 22/01/2006 02:52

Oh bless - did he roll over and go to sleep? Good luck will keep everything crossed for you

MrsDoolittle · 22/01/2006 02:58

I'm going now. Thanks Ladies

Gonna get a mug of tea

OP posts:
ambercat · 22/01/2006 03:02

have a walk round the house and see if any more water comes, make a nice cup of tea, or get dh to make you one!
is he awake yet?!

Cabe · 22/01/2006 03:03

sounds like good advice - an hour is a long journey at this time of night esp if when there you're just told to go back home!

ambercat · 22/01/2006 03:03

x post! great minds etc!!!

HellKat · 22/01/2006 06:10

I was 33 wks when my waters started leaking. kept thinking I'd become incontinent lol. only hapened when I rolled over bed. After two days I noticed my stomach seemed to be going down and realised it was my waters. Went to the hospital and found out I was in labour. Ds2 was born 52 mins into the 34th week weighing a healthy 4lb 14ozs.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 22/01/2006 06:16
