Took a pregnancy test the other day even tho i think it was to early to test. It came up negative before the three minutes. So throw it in bathroom bin. Anyway i went to empty bin today and noticed that there was a faint positive sign! So do i take it that it was negative or leave it a few days and test again?

As the test had dried I would ignore that one and do another one when your period is due. The instructions say not to read the test after about ten minutes I think (something like that, have a look at yours if you still have the box). AFAIK it's because once the wee dries you can get an 'evaporation line' which looks like a faint positive - it will look a bit grey rather than pink or blue (apparently this happens more often with the pink dye tests).

Definitely re-test to be sure. Anyway, I hope you get the result you want!

P.S. With the next one wait for the full time it says until throwing the test away. If you are using one where you need two lines or a cross for a positive, you'll get one line coming up quickly (this one just shows the test is working and shows whether it is pos or neg) and then the actual second positive line can take a bit longer to come up, especially if you are testing early. If you get any second line within the time the instructions say it's a positive, even if it's quite faint. They tend to get stronger the later you do it, as there is more HCG in your wee...

With my daughter, I tried for months and months to get pregnant.

I only used the very cheap, one strip pregnancy tests, but the only time I could see any faint line ever was when I was actually pregnant with her. The other tests were maybe on the windowsill for a while (days perhaps before I binned them) and they never showed any evaporation lines.

So I would say that there's a good chance that you may be pregnant if something actually did show up on your test.

collect and dip!

i had just that with my DD, tested early in a public loo on my way to get a smear done, just to be sure... didnt show anything within the three mins so assumed not pregnant.

had the smear, came home, emptied my bag and just checked the stick again before i threw the box out and there was my faint line!... tested againthe next day (collected and dipped to get more absorbtion) and hey presto a strong positive :)

am lucky the smear didnt chase her out!

You don't need to wait a whole week. Try tomorrow morning, or the morning after. The hormone shows strongest in your firat wee of the day. It's rare to get a false positive, so if it's faint, it's still positive
