Fragrance free toiletries in early breastfeeding?

Hello all - recently had a breastfeeding class and the class teacher said all toiletries you use for about 2 weeks after the birth should be fragrance free (shampoo, soap, everything) as the baby needs to be able to smell your unique mummy smell and find the breast etc. Confused as haven't heard of this before and mummy-specific toiletries seem to have fragrance as far as I can tell. Has anyone else been told of this advice and also, does anyone know where to get shampoo etc. that has no fragrance?! (Have found deodorant but that's about it)

I agree with the MW, but not quite to the same extent. I used normal shampoo / conditioner, but used fragrance free shower gel and didn't wear perfume or body spray for a while. It wasn't much of a problem for me though as I have really sensitive skin and tend to use Simple etc anyway :)

Theres some pretty good info about baby and mother communication via smell and its positive impact on feeding. I would think sensitive ranges that tend to be fragrance free would be a good starting place?
