Hello, I am finally pregnant with my much longed-for IVF baby. I tested positive last week and did a beta test at 10DP5DT which was 171. A bit low, but still definitely pregnant.

The thing is, I am having no symptoms. I have been pregnant before, and am sure that I felt something by now.

Anyone else? Thanks.

As it's IVF will they be giving you an early scan? Please try not to worry, 5 weeks is early, a lot of women wouldn't realise they are pregnant at 5 weeks.

Sluttybuttons · 01/02/2012 04:59

:o congratulations

Enjoy the lack of symptoms, by the time you are 10 weeks you will be posting about how sick you feel and how tired you are. Or you might be really lucky and have a fantastic pregnancy with very little symptoms.

With dd1 i was sick from 3 days before i found out until a couple of days after she was born, it was hell. With the twins i felt very tired for a few weeks and a bit sicky but that was it until i got uncomfortable and sore with the sheer size of me

My scan is next Saturday 11th. I am not sure I can cope until then. I have to inject myself with Progesterone in Oil every night and I am taking so many meds. I can't help feeling it's all for nothing, as I don't feel pregnant. My beta was OK, but not wonderful. I have another beta test tomorrow but I am just so stressed out...

Please try not to worry, as A Kiss said, many women have not yet realised by 5 weeks that they are pregnant. I am 6 weeks pregnant ATM and I have no symptoms, I don't think I had any until about 8 weeks with first DD.

MalibuStacy · 01/02/2012 05:50

Really Jimbo? Thanks, I am so worried Sad

Hi, I'm 25w pregnant with twins after IVF. To be honest after my positive result I felt less pregnant for a couple of weeks as the OHSS started to wear off! I remember we went out for the 10th anniversary of us getting engaged, that would have been what, 2 and a bit weeks after the embryo transfer so basically 5 and a bit weeks pregnant. We had champagne but I'd already had the positive test so I wasn't drinking too much of it... but I could have, I felt totally normal. I got morning sickness later but at that point really had nothing at all.

Are your clinic carrying on doing betas? Mine did two betas then a scan at 6 weeks. On the beta the level doesn't really matter - it's so dependent on when the embryo implants - as long as the level's doubling within about 48 hours. Sorry you probably know that already. I'm starting to forget it all now!

AKissIsNotAContract · 01/02/2012 08:16

Sorry I forgot to say congratulations. My best mate is just a week ahead of you with her IVF pregnancy so I know how stressful it all is. Try not to worry I'm sure everything will be fine.

Teds77 · 01/02/2012 10:16

Congrats Grin

I'm another IVF-er, currently 14 weeks with twins. I don't think I had any symptons earlier than 6 weeks, possibly even 7 weeks so try not to worry. Hope that the beta is good tomorrow xxx.

MalibuStacy · 01/02/2012 11:22

Oh, thank goodness! Thanks girls. I've got beta envy at the moment. I wish I had never bloody well done it. We put 2 back, but my beta was lowish so I am assuming that only one took. But everybody's beta is higher than mine. It's beggining to piss me right off, LOL!

So, two sets of twins! How exciting! Do you each know what you are having?

I know nothing about ivf, but I didn't even think to do a test with my DS until I was 6 weeks pregnant and then it was only the lack of a period that made it occur to me

BabiesNeedInstructions · 01/02/2012 13:44

Just wanted to add to the 'don't worries' - I am also 5 weeks and have no symptoms at all, I had the same with my first and got so worried I went to the gp, who looked at me like I was insane. This time I am much more relaxed! There's nothing at all to link the severity of your symptoms to the outcome of your pregnancy, and we'll all be exhausted with swollen ankles soon enough, so just try to enjoy it while it lasts!

MalibuStacy · 01/02/2012 14:22

Thanks BNI. Glad I'm not the only one not having symptoms.

I was sick as a dog with my first pregnancy, but with my second I'm now 18 weeks and hardly a symptom so far. Enjoy feeling healthy!

BabiesNeedInstructions · 01/02/2012 16:31

I think we worry because being pg seems like such a big deal we can't quite believe we wouldn't feel different straight away. We'll get there though....

Deafworm · 01/02/2012 16:40

With dd1 we were saving for Ivf and fortunately fell pregnant naturally but had decided to stop ttc in the meantime. So finding out I was 25 weeks pregnant and had had no symptoms was a bit of a shock! Try not to worry and enjoy it, if you do get them you will soon wish you didn't have them!

FlirtyThirty · 01/02/2012 22:37

5+3 for me and nothing....you aren't alone!
Relaxing, however hard, is he best thing you can do just now. X

MalibuStacy · 02/02/2012 14:32

Well, I've just got my betaHCG result back, and it was 1055! So I'm definitely pregnant, most likely with twins. Still don't feel any different, though.

whoneedstosleep · 02/02/2012 14:48

Aww congratulations.
Just wanted to add that I'm almost 18 weeks pg and I still haven't had any symptoms!!
I now consider myself one of the lucky ones but I know how worrying it is at the time.

coccyx · 02/02/2012 14:51

enjoy this time . when i had my daughters i got to 6/7 weeks and BAM. tiredness and vomiting ruled my life!

Failsafe · 02/02/2012 15:12

Well i'm 25+2 and the only symptoms i've had so far is needing to pee more often, a bit more tired than normal some days and braxton hicks!
Apart from the bump and the constant wriggling I wouldn't even know i was pregnant!
(I'm not bragging, I am so bloody grateful that ive had a relatively easy pregnancy so far!)

buonasera · 06/02/2012 14:53

Just got back to this thread today... congratulations! When's your scan?

Oo I wonder if you are having twins? A lot of people have wicked morning sickness with twins (me included) so you may have that to look forward to... having said that I also know someone who had twins and no morning sickness so it just depends on the individual.

I'm having two girls... OH is still slightly shellshocked as he seems to think he's going to disappear into a world of girly pink people. He seems to have forgotten who he married... if they're anything like me it's only a matter of a couple of years before they start showing him how to program the Sky plus properly and taking over the dining room table with their lego creations...

VickityBoo · 06/02/2012 23:17

Hi, I hardly had any signs early on with dd. just wanted to eat a lot and my boobs got sore! Congratulations you must be very excited Grin

LondonAnna35 · 06/02/2012 23:25

Hi, Malibu Stacey, and congrats on your pregnancy and great HCG level! What a relief. When is your scan?

I'm at around the same stage and also wish I had more symptoms - I've got a history of recurrent miscarriage so would feel much happier if I was vomitting constantly to be honest! But all looks good so far... Fingers crossed.

PrincessPrecious · 06/02/2012 23:40

I know nothing of ivf but I never really had any symptoms when I was pregnant except the lack of a period. Congratulations!

oikopolis · 07/02/2012 00:10

MalibuStacey, so happy to hear your counts are up. Won't twins be lovely!

FWIW I am a week-and-a-half ahead of you and my first real symptom sore/sensitive nips (!) only began today. Besides that I've been hungry and sleepy, both of which you'd likely not notice if you were feeling very anxious.

Wishing you a long and boring pg :)
