I am worried sick. My sister has been taken to hospital as she is losing fluid. She is only just 24 weeks

She has had a stressful pregnancy. She has had bleeding problems from the start but every scan has showed that baby & placenta is ok. She is now just 24 weeks and has been losing fluid since 1pm today. She says she can still feel it moving around.

I am out of my mind with worry. The baby will be too little to stand a good chance of survival.

I hope the scan went well and that your sister and nephew are doing well.

Scan showed the bleed has remained the same - grade 1 one side and grade 2 the other. They say it is good that it has not spread & it can take a long time for the blood to get absorbed back into the body. He will have another scan in 2 weeks.
He managed a whole 5 hours off cpap yesterday, which is great!

I remember how frightening it was to be told DS2 had bleeds on the brain - something you can't see nor understand - but grade 1 and 2 is on the positive side of something horrible. It is very common among premature babies, though that doesn't help when it is your baby going through it.

I hope your DSis is looking after herself too.

Sorry, have had a busy weekend. I have seen a lot of my sister over the w/e, as we went over to babysit for my older nephew (who has now come down with chicken pox) so that my sister & BIL could visit the baby together on Friday night & then we went back over yesterday. I got to see the baby again, but this time without the ventilator etc. He was off his cpap for 5 hours too, so I could see his little face properly too. He has lots of dark hair and tiny perfect features - he is just beautiful!

I'm so pleased he's doing well. I love reading the updates.

It was lovely to see his little face. He looked like he was dreaming as his little mouth was twitching. He is gorgeous!

How's baby pinks nephew ? :)

He is not doing so well, I'm afraid. He had to have a blood transfusion yesterday & today he had 2 lung scans which have shown quite a bit of damage and what look like cysts. They have upped his oxygen & are keeping an eye on him. Poor little baby.

Sorry to hear that. Premature babies do equal rollercoasters. I hope he's on the up again soon.

:( :( so very sorry to hear pink! Sounds a bit lame I know but I really am sad to hear he's not doing so well right now. Honestly still think of you guys and I hope this set back is short lived and he comes kicking and screaming thru this

A lot of prem babies will have their ups and downs you'll be amazed what they can pull themselves back from.
