Hi
Can anyone give me some tips on the best place to get maternity leggings? I mean the proper cotton trouser-like leggings, not just tights with no feet.
Thanks!

I think I got some from Dorothy Perkins past time round but that was 3 years ago...

toddlerama · 30/01/2012 09:53

I got some at Asda, but they didn't wash well at all. Don't know what I expected for £6 really. On the plus side, they are cheap to replace...

MonkeyPants79 · 30/01/2012 09:56

Dorothy Perkins are far too thin - I found H&M the best. £8 I think for a pair, thick with a nice big panel to go over the bump. Only in black however......

lucyfluff · 30/01/2012 10:02

I got some lovely Next ones from ebay (second hand) for £3...and they looked brand new. Wash lovely every time so would definatly buy a pair of them if you are buying brand new :)

scarletforya · 30/01/2012 14:17

I got a super comfy pair in H&M.

civilfawlty · 30/01/2012 14:18

Jojo maman bebe were the best I found.

WhenDoISleep · 30/01/2012 14:20

I got some on eBay for about £8. Lovely thick material.

DharmaCeutical · 30/01/2012 14:21

Boden are the best by far. Their sizes are BIG though, I'm a 14 and still have room in their 12.

justhayley · 30/01/2012 15:02

Iv been getting mine from H&M they stretch, wash well and last. Only prob is they are quite long. Although perhaps in a bigger branch or online you could get different lengths

CoffeeOne · 30/01/2012 15:07

I bought a pack of 2 at the start of my pregnancy from New Look and they have been the best thing I have ever bought ever. Ever. At 37 weeks I'm in them daily and they are sooooo comfy. Buy them in your normal size you don't need to upsize.

PickledLily · 30/01/2012 15:16

Ditto DharmaCeutical

Lyftiduft · 30/01/2012 15:20

Gap were the best ones I found- but was over a year ago so may not be the case now I guess

MummyPigandDaddyPig · 30/01/2012 15:31

Second the BODEN ones, I am still comfy in them at the halfway stage! The most fantastic comfy ones are from MOTHERHOOD MATERNITY in the states, if you have chance to get one or ebay some they are fantastic. Really well fitting and covers the bump with a thin material that doesnt ruin your jumpers. I cant recommend them enough!

marshmallowpies · 30/01/2012 15:40

I get my normal leggings in H&M but not maternity ones as I've never seen a maternity section there - do most stores have one? (I'm still fine with ordinary leggings as my bump is pretty small at 6 months, luckily).

Very disappointed with Seraphine leggings which were waaay too long for my legs - had to fold over the bottom half to stop them from being all wrinkly and they looked ridiculous. And they were basically footless tights, not leggings at all - they were in a section on the website called 'tights and leggings' so when I bought a legging I was expecting, y'know, a legging.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 30/01/2012 15:55

I have got away so far with not having actual maternity leggings. Just bought bigger size up in Dorothy Perkins or M&S. M&S good quality. DP I have had one good quality pair and one pair slightly too thin material. But cheap as chips so not too much of a problem.

Ladyhaha · 30/01/2012 19:22

I got mine from Next and they're really comfortable and wash well.

SleepyPiglet · 30/01/2012 19:25

Another vote for new look- I wore mine constantly for months and they were really comfy. I was quite reluctant to go back to normal ones! Grin

mistressploppy · 30/01/2012 19:46

Mine are Next too. Lovely and long (I am 5'11") and go RIGHT over the bump. Am massive (39wks) so comfort is a priority

notcitrus · 30/01/2012 20:03

H&M organic ones - about half their stores have a mat section, esp if there's two stores in a town, one will. Usually the one with kids stuff.
£7.99 a pair in black. I went and got an extra pair as they are great!

They also do thin leggings in packs of 2 which you have to wear something over - basically footless opaque tights.

beebee1978 · 30/01/2012 20:18

New look were great lasted all the way thru my pregnancy

ShipShapeBristolFashion · 30/01/2012 20:46

I got mine from Gap a couple of months ago and they are brilliant.

marshmallowpies · 31/01/2012 11:02

Hmm any recommendations for people with shorter legs if the Next ones are very long? Do they do petite sizes?

I used to love Oasis leggings, lasted me years and years compared to the H&M ones and American Apparel, but when I last looked in an Oasis they didn't have leggings in at all.

claricestar · 31/01/2012 11:41

another one here who has normal non maternity leggings. cotton lycra ones from sainsbury's. I think they were 2 for £7. normally a 12 but I got size 14. at 37 weeks with a huge bump they are still comfy under the bump.

Kayzr · 31/01/2012 11:43

I have New Look ones and they are fabulous!

BikeRunSki · 31/01/2012 11:55

I had some excellent ones from h & m. thick, stretchy cotton. Proper bump panel so they never got too tight.
