I'm 37+3 with DC2. I had BH with Dc1 pregnancy but they were at worst, a bit uncomfortable and not very frequent.
Since last night I've been having, what I assumed were BH but they are really quite crampy and bordering on painful.
There is no pattern or frequency to them so I'm fairly sure it's not the start if labour... Or is it?!
I've had no show and waters definately not broken.
Is this how labour can start or have I got weeks potentially of these horrendous contractions?

I'm afraid I've been having what you describe since 34 weeks and I'm now at 39 weeks and I haven't had a show or other sign that labour is imminent yet Sad!!! it is my third so I'm as surprised as you...I thought slow, latent labour was mostly for first babies...I'm afraid not! It is horrible and demoralising having it every day for several hours. I hope things move quicker for you. Take two paracetamol during wdking hours, eventually they build up and help a bit. Keep me posted!

Thanks for your reply. Fingers crossed I don't have weeks of this! It's bloody horrible! Good luck with your impending birth... At least you have an end in sight!
