Private ultrasound/obstetrician north west?

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good private ultrasound clinic in the north west of England? If you know of any with an obstetrician or similar leading the scans that would be preferred (due to problems the previous time, im extra nervy about scans being done properly),

We used Vince Hall at Spire Macclesfield who does the scanning himself (Well did 3 years ago) he seems pretty good.

Unfortunately was unable to get a response from his secretary about an early scan recently despite 3 messages left and went to the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester which was very good. But that was just an ultrasonographer. There is an obstatrician who works there too but not sure he scans. ?Bullen

Think there is a Sue Dean at Macclesfield Spire who is also a consultant who scans herself.

If you are concerned about scans being done properly then it is important that you check the credentials of the person performing the scan. There is a worrying trend in belief on MN that Obstetrician means better scan...Actually Obstetricians often scan with little or no formal Ultrasound training.
Sonographers complete a 3 year Radiography degree (or Midwifery) followed by 1-3 years formal Ultrasound post grad depending on the disciplines they scan in. Sonographers (in the NHS anyway) are subject to in-house audit and auditing from external bodies like the FMF.
Sadly, all to often, Obstetricians come into Ultrasound on a 'see one, do one' basis having bought a machine and had a run-through with an Applications Specialist.
