Hi I am due on Monday, but of course baby boy has been engaged and ready to come out since 36weeks!!!!

Asked the midwife and she bluntly and funnily said sex because the spermies help soften the cervix lol my partner was in the room and he went awfully quiet! I laughed so hard!

Have tried that, but I have lost all 'drive'.

am taking Raspberry Leaf Tea, have been for about a week, I think all it does is shorten the 2nd stage, but still an extra vitamin and midwife said it was fine.

I will not do Castro oil, castor oil, whatever you spell it lol because it is very dangerous can make babies poo in the womb and thy breathe it in and it can cause in foetal death :( and is bad for mother too

have tried walking but not for long times, his head just hurts.

am constantly on exercise ball, doesn't really do much, think it got his head lower to start with.

I do get pains which I presume are braxton, and they are not nice, but had these twinges for weeks and they just stop and its annoying :(

Have eaten spicy food, it just tastes nice lol

wat worked for you, any weird stories? I was told a story about someone going for a ride in a tractor, and baby came same day lol

Everyone thought baby was going to come early as did have high b/p suspected pre-eclampsia and family history on both sides of early babies, so of course thats all cleared up and he is happy and snug using my bladder as a cushion, bless him lol

sorry for the long post...also I have loads of discharge...TMI... sorry I know, is that normal? It's clear/thicky yellowish, but not an infection or nothing so is it just pregnancy being gross, I always have alot and I think I'm weeing myself and it's just discharge :/ sorry

if anyone reads this and post, thanks xxx

I tried.....

RLT, curry, sex, nipple stimulation, walking, bathing in essential oils (jasmine oil, lavender and clary sage), massaging bump with Clary Sage, relaxation, reflexology, being driven down bumpy roads, bouncing on a ball, expressing, scrubbing floors, spring cleaning, evening primrose oil, walking up and down the stairs endlessley, yoga and eating fresh pineapple. The only thing I didn't try but wanted to was going to an Osteopath, someone told me they can move your body to help prepare you for labour, apparently it's good for getting the baby into the best position.

Nothing worked, baby was born at +16 days by EMCS after a failed induction, it was nice doing most of that stuff though, helped me stay as relaxed as possible while I was overdue.

I went for a really big swim 10 days before due date (twas a very hot summer) and went into labour 12 hours later. I've always joked that DD realised it was time to get out quick before I did anything more energetic like bungee jumping. I also walked up and down virtually non-stop throughout labour and it all helped.

Tried everything, nothing worked except sitting in a hospital bed waiting for prostin gel for induction. My waters went and contractions started in the two hours I was sat waiting for the midwives to pull their fingers out (that's not a reference to vaginal exam either) Grin

Cinema - loud action film or a long walk

Night out dancing to (very specifically) Dolly Parton's 9-5 and 'Big Girls You Are Beautiful'...bang, from no symptoms to 3mins apart cxs a few hours later.

Just outed myself in RL with this but you are worth it.

Sorry to say but some oral pleasure for dh sorted me out. Digestion is the key though! Eek. Within half an hour contractions started and ds popped out 6 hours later!

ayearoverdue · 29/01/2012 12:12

flippedflop I'd heard that, one of the things I didn't try though, heightened taste and gag reflex woulda meant I'd spew it back up

MissRee · 29/01/2012 12:18

I tried it, didn't work for me!!! Grin
