Hi I have been told I have group b strep this pregnancy and was hoping for a water birth. does anyone know if this is possible due to the GBS

Hi, I went for a tour of our birth centre yesterday and they did mention this, but I can't remember exactly what the outcome was. I think they said that you should be closely monitored by the doctors but I'm not totally sure. I suggest speaking with your midwife if possible. Good luck x

Its possible, but entirely dependant on the policy of your PCT - some will allow antibiotics to be given in the pool, some will say you have to come out, some will point blank refuse.

Would suggest you ask your midwife what the policy is at your hospital.
