please reassure me that the pessaries are safe in pregnancy. GP says no, midwife says yes (and also says that you can tell the GP is a man!)

I'm scared of putting strong chemicals up my vagina while pregnant! Am 28 weeks btw

ive been given two canesten pessary prescriptions by the midwife in the 3rd trimester and im now 37+6 and had no problems, hth :)

Yep I also got pessary. Twice since 28 weeks. All they said was dont put it too far up. The relief was almost instant! I hate thrush.

Thanks. I can't wait to get rid of this, been itchy on and off for months! GP said there was nothing I could do except use the external cream to relieve symptoms [ sad]

The pessary is fine but it's recommended to use a finger rather than the applicator to insert it. My GP confirmed that after bloody chemist wouldn't sell it to a pregnant lady, think it's even in the information leaflet.

Yeah, my midwife told me to get someone else to buy it for me or keep my coat done up, as they wouldn't sell it to me!
