Private scans near Twickenham/Kingston/Richmond - recommendations?

I'm the kind of girl who tells noone about being pregnant til after the 12wk scan...all being well.

BUT this year, I'll be on a huge family holidayat 10weeks and no way I will get away without drinking, and I usually get awful morning sickness too, so I am reconciled to telling people a little earlier rather than make up excuses and have everyone guess anyway.

So, I want to have a private scan before I travel around 9wks to be sure there's a heartbeat...

Can anyone recommend a private ultrasound company in Twickenham/Kingston/Richmond area? Your experiences would be great to hear...

Thanks! x

Hi there, I had a private scan at the Babybond centre in Wimbledon- not sure how close that is to you? They were very good and gave me pictures to take away of my 7 week blob.

Not near you but if you can get into town I really recommend the fetal medicine centre in Harley Street.

Not only are they professional, kind and not too expensive (for London!), all profits from the centre go to a foundation to help improve the health of pregnant women and babies.

I've also been to babybond but in Richmond - three times infact! 2 Early scans at 7 weeks (two different pregnancies) and a gender scan at 16+1. It costs around £100.

If you need to do your reveal at at 10 weeks then perhaps book yourself in for around 9 1/2 weeks so that you don't then start fretting that it's 'gone wrong' in the weeks since you were scanned. Not to mention that at 7 weeks as much as it's massively reassuring to see the heartbeat it is literally just a tiny blob. By almost ten weeks it's more 'gummy bear' and you might see the limbs moving a little, or the baby twitching.

Ah, to echo rick I have been to the FMC too - it's really not very far from here at all and, in comparision to Babybond, is beyond fantastic...worlds apart. You really feel in world class care (which it is...) but that said, the scan I had with them I had true 'medical' concerns (it was a nuchal scan/bloods following a worrying appointment with the nhs) rather than just checking we had a heartbeat and everything was progressing as well as to be expected at an early date. I think it cost £180 there but maybe they do an earlier 'dating' scan that is cheaper.

I had a private ultrasound scan at myultrababy, because I wanted to make sure it's not ectopic before I go on holiday. We went to the Canary Wharf one but they do have one in your area. www.myultrababy.com/west-london.html It's 75 quid, the whole thing didn't last very long, but we saw the sac and the sonographer pointed the heart beats to us, got my bean measured, and also got a picture too.

Hi FlirtyThirty,congratulations!!

I also went to the wimbledon baby bond for a private scan and they were very good. The scanner produced a great picture. (Had another private scan in Banstead and the picture quality was not nearly as good and looked more like the NHS scanners.)

Ultrasound Plus Kingston (Hampton Wick) is a highly convenient and well rated option for early or any types of pregnancy scans, blood test or general ultrasound scans.
