I thought that was just me, feel like I should be buying maternity jeans already! Are you having knotty sensations too?

I was a size 8 to 10 before I got pg. Soon as I found out which was about 5 weeks I started to balloon, by the time I was going for my scan at 13 weeks I was a size 14. I put on 4 stone and was a side 18 by the time I gave birth. Ds is 1 now and I'm back in a size 10. I think some people get big and some people don't. I loved evey second of my pregnancy and never worried about it. Congratulations x

It'll be bloating. I remember it being terrible in the first trimester, and what I ate seemed to make no difference to it. But now I'm 32 weeks and my bump is by all accounts pretty teeny. I was sleeping in my front til about a month ago too.

Hi, Im pregnant with my second, due this coming saturday and huuuge! I started to show by about 7 weeks and am now getting v fed up of the comments ....'are you sure there's only the one in there!..' but Ive enjoyed this pregnancy more than my first one and cant say I feel more uncomfortable this time. Show off your bump my lovely! :)

Tirion for what its worth, I'm about 6 weeks and have been so so gassy/bloated/constipated that my trousers are quite uncomfy! personally i think it's the iron in my antenatal vitamins. that or it's hormones.

I think it's common to be bloated in early pg anyway, so don't worry too much. your babe is still so so tiny, it can't be anything but hormones (or maybe iron supplement if you're taking it) I think.

congrats on your pg!

It's really really common to have bloating in early pregnancy, some of it might be initial irritation and swelling while your bean implants in the uterus and it gets used to the increased blood flow, later on it's most likely to be sluggish digestion from the pregnancy hormones. With a bit of luck you'll get a few weeks from about 12-16 weeks where everything will settle down and then you'll suddenly 'pop' out with a real bump instead of just feeling like you've swollen from the waist down Smile. It gets worse as the day progresses - wake up one size and go to bed another. The belly bands are useful for hiding opened buttons/unzipped trousers and don't feel bad about changing into comfy sweats/pyjamas when you get home at the end of the day.
Good luck.

I was the same. By 9 weeks, I was in mat pants. Now at 20 weeks, I feel ( and look) huge. Doesn't help that I have been eating a lot of carbs and sugar every day...
It took me a long time to lose the baby weight first time around and I never got back to my pre preg size, I swore it would be different this time, but I am not doing so well.

Littlecherublegs · 27/01/2012 09:59

Yep, Im 6+5 weeks pregnant and already my clothes feel tight. Try to undo the button on my jeans when I can so it doesnt dig in!
Stomach looks and feels bloated and swollen and my waist seems to be disappearing already!!
Am eating like a horse too - lots of cravings for starchy things like toast, crisps and crumpets.
Think it is just all normal though and am being easy on myself - we're pregnant after all and the main thing is that the bean is ok Smile
