36 weeks, premature labour paranoia?

This is my first mumsnet post, I hope I've done it right!

I'm 36 +2 with my first baby and have been having period type pains for about a week now, mainly at night. I did mention this to my midwife on wednesday and have no signs of UTI.
Today the pains have been more noticeable (although there's no pattern to them) and are accompanied by back pain around my bra line.

Am I just being paranoid, as from the start I have managed to convince myself this baby will appear before she's due... or are these early labour signs? If so, any tips please?

They sound rather Braxton Hicks like and what you would expect around this time.
You are only 5 days away from being considered full term so premature labour isn't really going to be a worry.

I wouldn't be worrying about premature labour at 36+2. I had my DD1 very unexpectedly at 37+2 after my waters broke. She was absolutely fine, very slightly jaundiced which we fed through (no treatment required). To be honest having her early was a major bonus - going full term or overdue is very hard work.

Your symptoms sound a lot like braxtonm hicks. I have the same now and am only 32w currently

Yep try not to worry, even if you go now everything should be fine Smile if there's no pattern it's probably just BH

agree with others, it's nothing to worry about now, you're quite far along. if your baby is born tomorrow, it's unlikely she will have any lasting health problems.
FWIW I was born at 37.5 weeks and also just had a touch of jaundice. No allergies, no asthma, healthy baby, am now hale and hearty with no problems at all.

You and your baby will be fine :)

I'm 35 weeks today and been having Braxton Hicks for a couple of weeks already, and also sometimes periodic pain.

I'm not really worried about because even at this stage baby would be fine.

My first baby was born 37+2 so I'm kind of expecting this one to pop out anytime soon...

Thanks for all your early-but-healthy baby stories, that's reassuring!
No sign of anything more yet, I expect for the next few weeks I will be reading every little twinge as a sign of labour!
