Shouldn't my baby be more engaged by now? (38 weeks)

I'm almost 38 weeks and DD1 has been 1/5 engaged (so 4/5 palpable) since 35 weeks at least. The midwife back then said that at my next appointment, the baby would have moved quite a bit down my pelvis. So now that appointment has come and gone and there has been no movement.

Is this already a bad sign? Will the baby be really late or is my pelvis maybe too small?

How far engaged are other babies at 38 weeks?

Nah, I'm 38+2 and 1/5 as well. Midwife not in the least bothered. Some don't engage until the very last minute, even after your waters have gone and everything.

Don't worry Smile

no, not a bad sign at all. some engage at that point, some don't until you go into labour. i wouldn't be too concerned

DD never engaged beyond 1/5 born 4 days late, apparently neither me or my brother engaged either, i was early, bro was on time, i really wouldn't worry.

Not a problem, most subsequent babies don't engage at all.
