Generally you measure the same as the number of weeks.

Measuring big isn't always something to worry about, it could be any number of things, mostly harmless and/or easily sorted. They will be sending you for a scan to check growth just so they can see how big the baby really is (since the tape measure is a rough guide not an exact science) and to see if there is anything that needs attention.

Fundal height (bump)measurements generally work out as 1cm for every week of pregnancy, and they allow for 2cms either way.

So at 27wks, you should measure between 25cms and 29cms. Any smaller than this, or any bigger and you should be refered for scan.

By this measurement you are a big, by 1cm. I wouldnt worry. :)

I think it's 1 cm per week, so it doesn't matter what she meant as on average you'd meassure 30cm at weeks iyswim. Just wait for your scan. Have they tested you for GD?

Yes she means 30 weeks!! Don't let it upset you I had same was told Im measuring ahead by 2 weeks sent for growth scan & baby is bang weight & length for gestation. I did say to midwife I think its my fat your including & not baby as I was a generous size 14 pre-pregnancy & carried extra weight all on my tummy... My consultant said today that to measure the bump is not completely accurate esp as bumps change shape with babies position so hold tight for scan & see what weight estimation they come up with!! x

she said it could be that im a big girl ? when i was pregnant with my first son i had a huge bump! because i was like size 12 clothes, since having my son nearly 3 years ago ive gone up to a size 20-22, he was spot on measurements although i went overdue by 2 weeks! and then had an emergancy c section i did say to her can u measure me because i dont think babys that big most of me is just fat lol, she was like infact your measureing 30! arghh confuseing stuff! x
