my dh and i have only been ttc for about 5 months, and have already had a false start with a late period. but now my- otherwise very regular- period is 3 days late. i've been getting very slight cramps and need to pee all the time. is it too early to do a test? i don't want to get my hopes up for nothing. thanks. S*

3 days late isn't too early. Go for it! Best of luck.

If you are late definitely do a test, they usually say to test again in a few days if negative and your period still doesn't arrive.

Good luck!

You can generally test from the day your due, you should get the positive if you are by now. Use your first wee of the morning as it is best and of course tell us how you get on. :)

That's a shame. It may just be that because you're paying so much attention to it now you're realising that you're not quite as regular as you thought? It's really not uncommon to ovulate at a slightly different time each month (or not at all), which then pushes the period 'due date' around as well. With a bit of luck, late ovulation can mean it was a bit early to test so it's definitely worth testing again as you plan if nothing turns up. Good luck.
