Almost 14 weeks with headaches...

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and have started having headaches the last few days. I drink plenty, probably more than I should, but always have and didn't have headaches before. I work on a computer during the day but again, did before and didn't have headaches!

I'm taking Pregnacare original but haven't had a single other medical tablet. I had a CSV last Tuesday that was uncomplicated and the procedure itself went well.

Anyone else experienced this? My head felt like it was going to explode yesterday and I had my head on the desk for 15 minutes. Nobody at work yet knows I'm pregnant (albeit I'm showing! Wanted to wait until we got the CSV results) so don't feel I can openly complain - without people offering nurofen etc! I didn't really want to start taking any paracetamol etc; any other advice?

Xx

I'm only slightly further on (15+5) but have been suffering with this myself. They were daily but over the past couple of days have found the pain has gone!! Long may it last.

I used paracetemol and as much rest as I can get (this is DC3 so not so much Smile) but think that as hormones settle down so will the headaches.

Hi, Ive been to the docs just the other day for exactly the same thing. Im 17+2 and Ive suffered from headaches since about the 12 week mark. The sickness seemed to be replaced by the headaches! Similar to yourself maternal, I drank loads as I thought it might be dehydration but they still seemed to crop up, in varying strengths. I have tried not to take more than 2 paracetamol a day but some days they have been very painful. The doctor did all the usual tests and everything has come back fine so far. To rule it out more than anything, I went to get my eyes tested yesterday and low and behold, I need glasses. I have always had very good vision all my life so didnt really think that at 30 I would suddenly need them but there was a strong deterioration in my right eye. Perhaps getting an eye test might help to rule out if this is also an issue for you?

I suffered the same Maternal to the point that my vision started blurring and I was terrified and went to be checked out at the prenatal ward, they could find nothing amiss, suggested it was due to hormones and gave me some safe painkillers, which knocked it on the head thankfully. Paracetamol is ok, but speak to your MW as she may be able to offer some better guidance. Hope you feel better soon.
