Is it too early to POAS?

My cycle is always unpredictable, however ranges from 29 - 33 days. This month I believe I ovulated on the 13th or 14th (just because I felt a bit of ovulation pain on both days so not sure which). I have been having pregnancy symptoms this month, but I might be imagining them because I'm panicking a bit. I just POAS and it was negative. Is it ok to assume I'm not pregnant? My period is not due until 27/28th (based on supposed ovulation date), but would have thought that it would show up on a hpt by now?

If you only ov'd on 13/14 Jan then you're only 10dpo or so now. That is quite possibly too soon for a HPT to pick it up. By perhaps 13/14 dpo you'd get a more reliable answer (ie less likely to get a false positive).

I'm afraid the only way to know is wait and see - best to wait until your period is actually due I'm afraid Smile

Sorry - I meant if you wait you're less likely to get a false negative - sorry!

Thank you for your answer. With my dd I got a bfp a few days before my period, so thought it would be ok - but then I realised maybe I should have waited longer to make sure the result is accurate.

Has anyone else had a negative test a few days before period was due and then a positive test a few days later?

Right, update on the above situation. The reason I actually started this thread was due to having pregnancy symptoms and wondering if the BFN could be too early. Well, I did finally get my period (6 days late and only very light for 2 days which is not usual for me). I was hoping that the other symptoms would have disappeared, but I still feel very sick all day, sensitive to smells, sore boobs and some period type aches. I know I can't be pregnant because of the BFN's and period, but I am worried about what it could be. I went to the GP yesterday who asked me to give him a urine sample this morning to test for pregnancy or infection - I handed it in at 8:00 but have had no call, so can I assume that it would have been negative for both of those things? What else could be wrong? Worrying about PCOS and endometriosis now, mentioned by a friend. Anyone have any ideas?
