Waters (and denial) or wee?!

Triage, DH and MIL and Mum think my waters have just gone. I'm in denial...I really don't want to get excited because nothing's gong to happen...it hasn't to date, so why should it now...
About half a cups worth, clear and non-smelly. Sudden unclenchable large dribble that soaked my pants ans PJs, followed by about 2mins of drirbbles/drips. think I can feel little drips every now and then, but I've been having little rushes of discharge for weeks. Had literally just been for a post DTD wee (which is usually yellow thanks to pregnacare)...so wee seems unlikely...maybe that was it. Oh, I did get out the bath about 1/2h before that, but I assume and trapped water from bath would have 1) smelt of clary sage and 2) DH would have poked that out or at least noticed it!
TMI, also very windy. Can hear it gurgling round...hopefully that'll clear before anything happens (want a water birth and would rather not poo in the pool). I'm assuming it's the wind that's causing bottom ache. Only 1 tightening so far.
I'm 40+5 and exceptionally fed up with being pregnant so I'm now thinking it isn't waters because that would be just too nice...and Missyface is still giving me some kicks and seems quite comfy...any ideas?!

Forget the wind and all the other symptoms. Are you still leaking some and can you control it? If so must be it.

Sounds like your waters! Go and have a rest. How exciting!

It was waters. Got to 5min contractions after 30mins, but she was back to back (AGONY) so went in. Baby Abi arrived Tuesday morning! :D

Congratulations! Thanks for updating, back to back is horrid! Luckily Dd turned before she came out, but the back pain before that oooouccch!

vanillacremebrulee · 28/01/2012 12:53

Congrats! You must feel so relieved you've done it. Details please!

surfmama · 28/01/2012 16:50

weeeee lovely lovely news congrats

Details! Oh gods. I'm not sure that's fair on all you guys, so, well, look away if squeemish.
I went from waters breaking to 5min contractions after about 40mins...and they HURT, and I don't mean a little bit I mean increasingly worse and wanting a section hurt...thinking about it now makes me want to cry and I'm pretty damn good with pain.
After having a 30min bath where the pain just got worse and worse, we rang and told them we were coming in as there was no letup with the backpain, but I was just getting contractions on top of it. I then started up with vommiting...emptied my stomach thank god, as it allowed me to do the 40min ride to hosptial without puking.
Got to triage who were telling me I still had ages...
...I didn't.
They assessed me after what felt like an age (so about 2-3h after waters) and I was about 4cm. 20mins later....8cm...oh dear...no time for the spinal I was BEGGING for "apparently"...
Went from there to the last 2 pushes in a few minutes...and then NOTHING for 3 hours...just could not get her out. After 3h they decided I'd had enough (finally) and I ended up with forceps (would have been ventouse but baby's head was badly bruised) and episiotomy.
On the plus side, I've never, ever been so bloody relieved as when her head came out...utter bliss...DH say I even looked much more like 'me'.
She came out all lovely and pink and perfect.
Then I ended up needing my much wanted spinal due to placental retention...bloody typical I say.

Right, Snufflix wants feeding...

You got a spinal AFTER they got the baby out with forceps??

Biscuitsandtea · 30/01/2012 15:41

Congratulations Oeisha - and a lovely name too!

Your labour sounds a lot like mine with DS - and I too only it my spinal after the forceps for when they tried to stitch me bak together in theatre!

Well done though - hope you're enjoying lots of lovely newborn snuggles to make you forget about that pain! Smile

Oeisha · 30/01/2012 17:17

Yup, you really don't want them fishing about in there without one! Did mean they did a very thorough job of my episiotomy stitches.
