Soo i had a Period 3weeks 3days ago, i Got a 'positive' test ( well few different) ones a few days ago, so went too see the dr. and was told it would be too soon, and was told i was not pregnant. when i took my tests i got pencil thin lines ( i took +/- tests ) and they where coloured But thin line down ( too show potitive). and was instantly showing, so i would have took that as positive, but could they have been evap lines? the dr done a strip pg test like the cheapy looking 1s he took 1 look and said negative, im so confused, as i said i used diff brand tests also so couldnt all be wrong, could they :/. Periods due in 4days, so guess i will know then. but if anyone has been in similar situation pleasee reply, feel like im going crazy :S x x

doubt it's a false positive based on what you've said. false positives are very unlikely

zonat92 · 22/01/2012 20:25

I thought so too. But the dr said because i had a period 3weeks ago it was unlickely i was, which i dont understand as a woman usualy obvulates day 14. thanku for replying :) x

yeah he's talking rot. you do usually ovulate about 2 weeks before a period starts. if you are usually a 28 day cycler, for example, you would ovulate around day 14ish and therefore you would now be about 10 days past conception if you were pregnant, which means you could potentially show bfp, albeit it would be early to get a positive at that stage, most people need to wait til they're at least due

zonat92 · 22/01/2012 20:32

Truee, and usualy im like clock work, 28 day cycle obvulate day 14, was that way with my 1st. changed contraception lately though So i dont no if things can change. But deffinatly had posatives, even made a friend take a test from a twin pack with me, deffinatly something there, would have been 7DPO when i 1st done it. suppose illl have too wait too see if mother nature turns up! :) x

The doctors tests are no where near as sensitive as the ones you can buy. Therefore you could easily get a positive and him a negative particularly when you are so early on. I would just leave it a week retest yourself and then go back. False positives are so rare so congratulations!

Pozzled · 22/01/2012 20:34

Are you sure your last period was a true period, not just spotting? It doesn't sound like false positives to me. I'd guess either you ovulated early in your cycle, or you're over a month pg- some women do carry on bleeding.

zonat92 · 22/01/2012 20:35

Thanks Hun. Period is due in 4days, soo just a waiting game. Im not ttc, i just wish i new either way :( cause atm im thinking oh dr said no. But then i can't get the posatives out my head. i have started folic acid (incase) Thats all i can do till ino for sure, thanku for reply :) x x

my last period was 5days long, wasnt as heavy or painful, but deffinatly lots of fresh blood. not spotting. i took a digital CB test after my posative and that said not pregnant, although it was later in the day! Is it true that an evap line wouldnt be coloured? x x

I tested positive on pound store preg tests several days before I thought my period was due? When I was scanned at 12 weeks I was over a week more preg than I thought I was. Working backwards from the dates I was given it means I conceived less than a week after my period. Ovulation isn't always in the middle of a cycle! You could well be pregnant if this has happened to you. Keep testing these next few days. The cheap pound store tests work just as effectively as the branded expensive ones.

Dalrymps · 22/01/2012 22:05

You'll probably get mixed results on different tests at this stage as its quite early. However you can't get a false positive so if you have had positive results on some tests then it looks very likely you are pregnant.

Apparently evap lines have no colour so if the lines you got have any hint of colour it means a positive test.

The only way you will know for sure is to wait a couple of days and test with first morning urine. I wouldn't waste your money on any more digital tests just yet. The normal tests will tell you just fineSmile

Thanks for all the replys, been soo helpful i did just make a new thread, because i think inoo whats happend. after my implanon removal i had a 21day cycle soo if this month is the same then i was due period 3 days ago :) You no when u just no something is wrong. i got my 1st bfp on the day i should have obvulated based on my usual cycle (before implanon) but if my theorys right, i would have been about 7Dpo by then. thanks so much for all the help. going too take a cheapy tomorrow and will let uno :) x x

how recently did you change your contraception? because that can make a difference to the hormones. that said, it could be why you have conceived despite them

zonat92 · 22/01/2012 22:54

had my implant removed just over 6weeks ago. had a period exacly 3weeks from that, so i thought maybe ive had a 21day cycle this month? ALL the dates would fit around concieving and tests etc x x

Any news?Smile

zonat92 · 23/01/2012 23:03

i done another tests today(or two:) ) & this mornings was a clear line where a posative should have been, like a colourless evap line, but instantly. Then second test later in afternoon, completly negative. So confused. Think im just going too take it as a negative for now! See how i go over the next week, prabibly have a nasty af round the corner haha xx

The level of BHCG in your urine is higher in the morning as your pee is more concentrated after the overnight period. So it's quite common to get BFPs in the morning and BFNs later in the day in early pregnancy. I would keep taking the folio acid and leave it a couple of days before retesting (easier said than done, I know).

TheGrandOldDuke · 24/01/2012 13:09

Watching this with interest - I tested 7 days after ovulation and got a positive...and have had several since....but surely this was too early to possibly tell? I'm due tomo and the test last yesterday was positive so guessing I am... Eeeek!

zonat92 · 24/01/2012 14:32

Omg pleasee keep me informed :D im due af in 2days time. i was getting period cramps two days ago and could swear a was going too come on, keep going loo thinking i had, but it was just discharge. Im the same as u, took a test and got positives when i thought i couldnt possibly have, unless ovbulated earlier than i thought, so confusing as i dont no weather im on a 21 or 28 days cycle haha. Hope your af stays away, fingerscrossed x x
