Although doctors dismissed my faint positive, has told me to return with my first wee of the morning on Monday,I?m worried that the symptoms are going persist yet no test is going to show it up .She?s referred me for a pelvic scan yet that?s going to take 6-8weeks,she also said whether positive or negative she?s going see if she can get me a blood test...iv decided to list my symptoms in order of facts

My period finished on October the 12th
Me and My boyfriend had unprotected sex the 14th and the 15th.
Between November and December I had two "periods" brown lasting two days
NOV-DEC
Metallic taste in mouth
Dizziness
Negative tests
Cramps
Nausea
Increased appetite
Sleeping alot
DEC-JAN
Nausea
Mood swings
Emotional
Headaches
Dizziness
Weight gain
Bloated
Faint positive
Back pain
Appetite changes
Craving dairy
Runny nose
Thirsty
Breathless
Fatigue
Pulsating abdomen
Cramps in legs
Acne
Greasy hair
Frequent urination
Constipation
Slight Flutters
Warm feeling in pelvis

Think that?s it...what is my body doing?? Opinions needed please ladies xxxx

In addition iv concluded that I am pregnant with all my symptoms two very faint positives, and my ever growing tummy(I was tiny) also can no longer button my jeans most inch 28 measured myself the other day now 33/34 inches...but i may have experienced "baby brain" already...this morning i woke at 3.40am and again at half 7 now I have a doctors appointment at 8.50am tomorrow for some bizarre reason, my brain thought today was Monday now not like "oh its Monday, wait a sec no its Sunday" that wouldn't of surprised me but instead I got up, got ready went to the doctors stood outside the surgery for at least 15mins even started to wonder if it was a bank holiday I had forgotten and only realised it was actually Sunday when i glanced at my phone to see "Sunday 22nd January" how silly do I feel... oh dear with all symptoms and a weird sensation in my pelvis like a warm feeling what do you ladies think? xx

Why did Dr disregard your faint positives? I'd demand a blood test in the morning to check your hcg levels whether it is positive or negative. You've been pregnant before (judging by your username) are your instincts telling you that you are pregnant?

Jessmummyof2at21 · 22/01/2012 14:53

I'm not sure really she just looked at it and was like "hmmm its barely there?" I was like well but it is there,iv showed it loads of people and they've all said they can see it so I'm not imagining things, yeah definitely feels same as before. The tests our surgery uses are 25mui but the ones iv had the faint positive on are 12.5,yeah instincts have been telling me since early November

I had that problem with my DH when i showed him my test! I'd definitely ask for a blood test too check your HCG levels and I'd be rather more insistent for a scan if they're unsure. I hope you get the result you want! Keeo me posted
tomorrow! xx

You can't be a little bit pregnant!? A faint positive IS a positive. I had 3 faint results before a darker line appeared. I'm now 13 weeks!I had all the exact same symptoms you mention. Sometimes your hormone levels just take longer to become strong enough for a fully blown dark line on a hpt!

Good luck! Xx

A +ve test is a +ve test regardless of how faint it is!

KnitterNotTwitter · 23/01/2012 12:01

What brand of test are you using? Can you afford a digital one as it makes it all a bit clearer IMO...

Emsgale · 23/01/2012 12:12

I was getting faint lines so got a clear blue digital it took a while to appear but said pregnant 1-2 weeks worth the pennies x

Jessmummyof2at21 · 23/01/2012 12:25

predictor coz they're ultra sensitive (12.5mui) I can afford cb digital on Friday

If you think you're that far gone anyway it might not show up on a pregnancy test I think. Why is your doctor even questioning if you're pregnant? If you've gone to them saying you're pregnant then tbh I've not known a doctor ever want to see the test or do their own. With this pregnancy I concieved on the pill and so had no idea of my dates, I was sent for an early dating scan with less than a weeks wait, so I would question where the 8 week figure is coming from.

Jessmummyof2at21 · 23/01/2012 12:38

just think they're being very slack my mom reckons there is no way im not carrying taking her along to family planning clinic maybe someone will listen to me then,i can hope anyways xx

pregnancy tests can only give a false negative (if they are done too early so not enough hcg to register) there is no such thing as a false positive so if there was a line then you are/were pregnant!

am i reading it right that you have had faint positve tests and since then a negative?

do you pee on the stick or collect and dip? i would definitely collect and dip if i were you as that way you can be sure that enough wee got in to make the reaction work

like others though, i dont understand why the doc didnt just take your word for it.. with all three of my pregnancies they have never questioned the fact.

Jessmummyof2at21 · 23/01/2012 12:50

She thinks its in my head, coz she did a test in Nov and that was negative, she does make me feel like im losing my mind :/ yeah my faint positives were first thing in morning the negative was at 9pm xxx

BatCave · 23/01/2012 16:32

I think I'd be tempted to go to another Dr and tell them that you've had a positive pregnancy test, but you've no idea of your dates. I should think they'd get you in for a scan. I've never had a Dr doubt my word for it.

Either way I'd go for a different Dr, this one seems to have some prior opinion that you aren't pregnant and has compromised her judgement in your case.

Jessmummyof2at21 · 23/01/2012 19:31

Iv bought a FR negative...did at 3pm got
another to do in the morning going to post
thankyou for all responses docs phoned and said
shes attempting to get me a scan tomorrow xxxx

Jessmummyof2at21 · 24/01/2012 11:44

stupid doctor said scan wasnt clear enough
so im just to wait term used "time will
tell..." so annoyed xx

OP posts:
OTTMummA · 24/01/2012 13:49

Umm, if your over 10 weeks they should defiantly be able to see a fetus in there. You should go back for more tests because having sickness and dizziness could be something serious if your not pregnant, which it seems like you are. Good luck.

Jessmummyof2at21 · 24/01/2012 17:53

Its just made me feel like im going mad
though I looked at my lil boys 13week scan
and it looked similar to the image the
doctor showed me,didnt see the screen
image was very patchy he didnt ask if I had
a full bladder,id be nearly 13weeks and
exactly where he scanned me thats where I
get my flutters, that side if it persists which
im 100% im gonna have to go to hospital
xxx

minceorotherwise · 24/01/2012 19:14

If you were 13 weeks pregnant the scan would have shown that with certainty

Jessmummyof2at21 · 24/01/2012 19:16

dont understand why doc jus told me to wait :/

OP posts:
OTTMummA · 24/01/2012 19:51

Well, they either are a really bad doctor, or you are not pregnant and they have told you, but you haven't accepted that so are just fobbing you off with 'time will tell'.

If you honestly think that you haven't had all the tests you need to confirm a pregnancy go back, maybe ask them if its possible you had an early loss, etc.

But really, a doctor would of been able to tell if there was a baby in there at 13 weeks, especially if you thought you could see something.

If you are still feeling sick etc, you need to look at other possibilities aside from pregnancy, you could be ill.
