Hey all - I am 34+3 with DC2 and for a couple of days have had incredibly painful hips/pelvis/lower belly. I can hardly walk sometimes. As I have a very active 23 month old DS and work (although will be from home after the end of this week) this is really inconvenient! I have tried long showers, baths etc, but I don't really know what it is and what it means, or what I can do about it.
I have a doc appointment mid-week and it's really hard to get an appointment without a few days notice.
Do any of you have experience of this and know what it is? With DS I was walking or swimming every day up to the day I gave birth, and I haven't been with this one because I am too busy with DS and work, and just knackered by end of day.
I have just had a really dreadful bout of thrush (TMI possibly) and now this seems to have replaced it, is very draining and frustrating!! Grrr...
Please help (or hold my hand and say there there...) :)

SPD? PGP?

i have the same thing at the moment. also weirdly my hands feel like all the joints are sore. almost like i have arthritis. really causing me problems with sleeping on my side. midwife said at 35 weeks this normal as joints are loosing up for delivery.

It sounds like PGP (the new name for SPD), there is a support 'sofa' on this board if you need more info/help.

Have a look at this leaflet: acpwh.csp.org.uk/publications/pregnancy-related-pelvic-girdle-pain
