Hiya, I'm 25 + 6 weeks and the last few days my energy levels have been really really dropping. During the first trimester I was exhausted but would wake up loads in the night - not always to run to the loo, and didn't really get a full nights sleep for months. From 17 weeks until now, iv felt totally normal & full of energy, but this week iv really struggled :( I keep waking up in the night or at 4am for over an hour and today am back to feeling so sleepy I could cry.

It's my first baby so not sure what to expect, but is it normal for the dreaded tiredness of the early days to be coming back to get me?

Thank love a probably going to be rather useless at work today Hayley xx

All sounds fairly normal....or that's what happened to me (bar the exciting glowy/feeling normal bit in the middle, I didn't get that, just felt a bit less shit). It's difficult, but try and find a routine that works for you. Some people can nap after work/in the afternoon, some people can't. Try and so at least some exercise (a walk around the block etc) during the day and when awake at 4am, try not to get too wound-up about it. Read, watch a film, do something for 40mins and try to sleep again. When you feel like a zombie at work, just remember these words: "FUCK THEM I'M INCUBNATING A LIFE". If you just can't stay awake/can't take it any more, have a sick day, looking after you and baby is what matters. You will begin to care less about work anyway, but start finding a way to care less/pass on responsibilties (or at least share them).
If you start to feel sick, it is not morning sickness returning, it's probably indigestion, so get some gaviscon fro your GP. This revelation made me a lot happier and my SIL's 3rd pregnancy much happier too (she didn't realise you coudl have gaviscon, let alone that it wasn't MS).

Oh, I fogot to add...mention the tiredness to you MW/GP and they can do an iron count on you, just to check. They should do this as standard at 28wks, but you might want to ask for it earlier if the tiredness is consistent.
